Abstract

Fenomena self-esteem pada remaja berkaitan dengan kemampuan mereka untuk mengevaluasi diri. Rendahnya kemampuan evaluasi dapat menimbulkan rasa tidak berharga dalam dirinya. Pola asuh merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pembentukan self-esteem. Pola asuh diukur berdasarkan persepsi remaja terhadap perlakuan orang tuanya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil self-esteem remaja berdasarkan pola asuh orang tua. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 269 siswa. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan: (1) 62,1% remaja kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Bandung secara umum memiliki self-esteem sedang, (2) Gambaran aspek kebajikan (virtue) mendapat tempat paling besar pada self-esteem dengan indikator berperilaku sesuai dengan standar moral, etika, dan prinsip keagamaan yang berlaku memliki mean sebesar 1,72 yang menunjukkan kategorisasi sedang (3) Sebesar 82,53% atau sebanyak 223 remaja merasakan dibesarkan dengan pola asuh authoritative (otoritatif), (4) Sebesar 49,44% atau sebanyak 133 remaja dengan self-esteem sedang dibesarkan dengan pola asuh authoritative. Dari penelitian, diharapkan orang tua, guru dan sekolah dapat bekerja sama membantu mengembangkan self-esteem remaja.;-- The phenomenon of Self-esteem in adolescents is associated with their ability to self-evaluate. Low ability to evaluate may cause the sense of worthlessness in their selves. Parenting style is one of the factors affecting the development of self-esteem. Parenting style in this study is measured by students’ perception of their parents’ behaviour. The research aims to discover self-esteem profiles in adolescents based on their parenting styles. This research utilizes a quantitative approach with descriptive methods using samples of 269 students. The research shows: (1) 62.1% of 10th grade adolescents of SMA Negeri 6 Bandung generally has average self-esteem, (2) Graph of virtue image achieves the highest place on self-esteem with indicator of behaviours corresponding to applicable moral, ethics, and religious principles standards has mean of 1,72, which is categorized as average. (3) 82,53% or 223 adolescents felt they were raised by authoritative parenting style. (4) 49,44% or 133adolescents with average self-esteem were raised by authoritative parenting style. Based on this research, the parents, teachers and school staffs are expected to cooperate to develop the adolescents’ self-esteem.
