Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks cerpen peserta didik SMA Kota Padang. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah pendidik mengalami keterbatasan merancang pendekatan pembelajaran. Peneliti mengembangkan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis media animasi powtoon serta mengujicobakan penerapannya dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis media animasi powtoon dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji hipotesis pada uji coba secara meluas, pengembangan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis media animasi powtoon efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen pada peserta didik kelas XI SMA Kota Padang. Produk akhir dari penelitian ini berupa pendekatan kontekstual berbasis media animasi powtoon dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen. Keberhasilan produk ini dapat dijadikan sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran alternatif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen karena mengaktifkan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam proses belajar dan membantu peserta didik menulis teks cerpen.;-- This research is motivated by the low ability to write short stories of students of SMA Padang. One of the contributing factors is that educators experience the limitations of designing learning approaches. Researchers developed a contextual approach based on powtoon animation media and tested its application in text writing short stories. The purpose of this research is to develop a contextual approach based on powtoon animation media in learning to write short story text. The research method used is research and development method. Based on the calculation of hypothesis test in the trial widely, the development of contextual approach based on powtoon animation media is effective in learning to write short story text on the students of class XI SMA Kota Padang. The final product of this research is a contextual approach based on powtoon animation media in learning to write short story text. The success of this product can be used as an alternative learning approach in learning to write short story text because it activates the involvement of learners in the learning process and helps students write short story text.
