Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena adanya strategi perusahaan dalam menarik minat investor dalam membeli saham yang dinamakan corporate action. Salah satu jenis corporate action yang dapat meningkatkan jumlah investor dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan investor adalah stock split. Stock spilt merupakan suatu strategi yang dilakukan oleh emiten untuk memecah nilai suatu saham sesuai dengan faktor pemecahannya agar harga saham tetap optimal sehingga menambah kepemilikan saham yang lebih luas, meningkatkan return saham, meningkatkan likuiditas saham serta menerapkan diversifikasi investasi Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis return saham dan likuiditas saham sebelum dan sesudah stock split. Penelitian dilakukan pada perusahaan-perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia yang melakukan stock split pada tahun 2014-2016. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan sampel 18 perusahaan, dengan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan paired sample t test. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat perbedaan return saham sebelum dan sesudah stock split, (2) Terdapat perbedaan likuiditas saham yang diukur dengan Volume Perdagangan Saham sebelum dan sesudah stock split. ...... This research is based on the company's in attracting investors in buying shares called corporate action. One type of corporate action that can increase the number of investors and improve the welfare of investors is the stock split. Stock spiller is a strategy undertaken by the issuer to break the value of a stock in accordance with its solving factor so that the stock price remains optimal so as to increase the wider shareholding, increase stock returns, increase stock liquidity. This research is done to analyze the stock return and stock liquidity before and after employing stock split. This subjects of this reasearch are companies listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange which have employed stock split between the year of 2014 and 2016. The sampling technique utilized in this research is purposive sampling with 18 companies as the samples, and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t test. The result showed that : (1) There is an apperent stock return difference before and after employing stock split. (2) There There is an apperent stock liquidity difference before and after employing stock split.
