Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sikap apatisnya mahasiswa dalam hidup bermasyarakat serta kurangnya kontribusi masyarakat dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Mahasiswa dan masyarakat merupakan elemen penting dalam suatu pemerintahan yang menjadi sala satu tonggak utama dalam proses pembangunan negara. Permasalahan tersebut mampu diatasi dengan mengembangkan civic engagement melalui program Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik Revolusi Mental. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan melakukan validitas data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) pengembangan civic engagement melalui program KKN Tematik Revolusi Mental dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi program. Kegiatan KKN Tematik Revolusi Mental mampu mengembangkan civic engagement mahasiswa dan masyarakat dilihat dari keterlibatannya dalam menyusun program, pelaksanaan program, hingga evaluasi program; (2) hasil pengembangan civic engagement bagi masyarakat dan mahasiswa yaitu keduanya antusias dalam mengikuti pelaksanaan program; (3) kendala dalam pengembangan civic engagement melalui program KKN Tematik Revolusi Mental berasal dari kendala internal seperti keterpaksaan mengikuti kegiatan KKN, kurangnya rasa tanggung jawab dan disiplin dalam pelaksanaan program, kurangnya komunikasi dan kendala eksternal yaitu penentuan lokasi KKN yang terlalu banyak tawaran, waktu KKN yang relatif singkat, sarana yang kurang mendukung dan keterbatasan biaya serta; (4) upaya dalam mengatasi kendala dalam pengembangan civic engagement yaitu diadakannya diklat mahasiswa, pemberian motivasi, rapat evaluasi secara internal, peningkatan sarana dan prasarana, penambahan kredit SKS dan pendekatan dengan masyarakat serta aparat desa setempat. ;---This research was motivated by the apathy attitude of students in social life and the lack of public contribution in the life of nation and state. Students and society are an important element in a government that becomes a major milestone in the country's development process. These problems can be overcome by developing civic engagement both students and the master program of community service revolution mental theme. This research used qualitative approach and descriptive method. The data were gathered from interview, observation and documentation study. The technique of analysed the data by data reduction, data presentation, conclusion and perform data validity. The results of this study were (1) the development of civic engagement through KKN Thematic Revolution Mental program is implemented through the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation program. KKN Thematic Mental Revolution activities are able to develop students and society civic engagement from their involvement in programming, program implementation, and program evaluation; (2) result of civic engagement development for society and student that is both enthusiastic in following program implementation; (3) obstacles in the development of civic engagement through KKN Thematic program of Mental Revolution comes from internal constraints such as compulsion following KKN activities, lack of sense of responsibility and discipline in the implementation of the program, lack of communication and external constraints is the determination of KKN locations that offer too much, relatively short, less supportive means and limited costs and; (4) efforts to overcome obstacles in the development of civic engagement namely the holding of student training, motivation, internal evaluation meetings, improvement of facilities and infrastructure, additional credits and approaches with the community and local village officials.
