Abstract
The study with the title of cognitive and psychomotor assessments with the aid of tube in tube heat exchanger trainer on the subjects of refrigeration installation system for students of SMK TPTU background because there is no adequate performance test equipment in SMK TPTU. Teachers still apply conventional learning to provide learning materials consequently many students who get poor learning outcomes. Therefore, simulator is needed as a learning media to improve student learning outcomes and become a tool of assessment on students. This study aims to make a test tool to be able to measure the results of cognitive and psychomotor learning in students well. This research method uses research development method of Research and Development (R & D). The research stages include: 1) Data collection; 2) Make the grid problem based on the syllabus; 3) Preparation of the simulator; 4) Instrument Validation; 5) Test product achievement; 6) Data analysis and draw conclusions. The result of the research is cognitive assessment that has been validated the contents and constructs of 21 items and the performance test has been validated in the contents of 48 itemsheet. The result of the product test to the students is the average of cognitive test of the students get the value of 83,5, while for the performance test obtained an average of 83,5.
