Abstract

In the race 50m fin swimming surface, swimmers need several physical components that help the movement to be more effective and efficient such as the leg muscles and flexibility of the pelvis. The Power of the leg muscles and flexibility of the pelvis are one of the components which are very involved in the surface movement. The purpose of this research is to know the power of leg muscles for the 50m surface and to know the flexibility of the pelvis for 50m surface speed. This study uses the method of research sort of descriptive set of merely correlational, with a population that is Finswimming Subdivision Training Bandung who is proficient at 50m fin swimming surface which consisted of 10 male athletes, with engineering samples using nonprobability sampling or saturated sampling where all the male athletes are the sample. The instrument of the research is the leg muscle test using a force platform, and for the flexibility of the pelvis using tools to sit and reach. Based on the results of the data processing and analysis of the data obtained, the result of this research is significant connection between the power of leg muscles towards the 50m surface and the flexibility of the speed towards 50m surface in Finswimming Subdivision Training in Bandung.
