Abstract

Penelitian ini diangkat dari permasalahan stres belajar yang dialami siswa. Guna mereduksi stres belajar tersebut maka perlu dilakukan upaya untuk mengurangi, mengatasi atau mentoleransi ancaman beban perasaan yang tercipta karena stres. Upaya yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dengan maksud agar tingkat stres belajar yang dialami siswa dapat tereduksi dengan baik. Metode pembelajaran tersebut dikembangkan berdasarkan pendekatan humanistik dan dipadukan dengan hasil studi pendahuluan tentang tingkat stres belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Aisyiyah Boarding School Bandung. Hasil olah data menunjukkan bahwa tingkat stres belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Aisyiyah Bandung secara umum berada pada kategori sedang (resistance). Artinya, siswa kelas IX SMP Aisyiyah Boarding School Bandung pada umumnya mengalami tingkat stres belajar yang tidak terlalu mengancam kondisi fisik maupun psikologis sehingga siswa masih bisa beradaptasi untuk mengatasi segala tuntutan dan kemampuan yang berhubungan dengan kegiatan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Group. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel sebanyak dua kelas yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang masing-masing kelas berjumlah 25 siswa yang kemudian dilakukan uji validasi instrumen sehingga ditemukan bahwa metode pembelajaran CIRC efektif dalam mereduksi stres belajar. Rekomendasi penelitian ini ditujukan kepada Program Studi Psikologi Pendidikan, guru serta bagi penelitian selanjutnya.---This study was raised from the problems of stress experienced by students. In order to reduce the stress of learning it is necessary to make coping to reduce, overcome or tolerate the threat of feeling burden created by stress. The coping of stress used in this research is Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning method with the intention that the stress level of learning experienced by students can be reduced well. The learning method was developed based on humanistic approach and combined with the result of preliminary study about the stress level of the students of grade IX SMP Aisyiyah Boarding School Bandung. The results of the data shows that the stress level of students learning 9th class SMP Aisyiyah Bandung in general are in the medium category. It means, the students of 9th class SMP Aisyiyah Boarding School Bandung generally has an experience of learning stress level is not too threatening physical and psychological conditions so that students can still adapt to overcome all demands and abilities associated with learning activities. This research uses the design of Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Group. The research was conducted by taking two class samples of experimental class and control class which each class were 25 students which then tested by instrument validation so it was found that CIRC learning method was effective in reducing learning stress. The research recommendation is addressed to the Education Psychology Study Program, teachers and for further research.
