Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh bervariasinya mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat mengacu pada nilai akreditasi sekolah (A, B, C dan belum terakteditasi ulang). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, kinerja guru dan mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, serta menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru baik secara parsial maupun bersama-sama terhadap mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 207 sekolah dari populasi sejumlah 678 sekolah. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala likert. Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Weighted Mean Scored (WMS) yang diinterpretasikan menggunakan bobot nilai untuk masing-masing dimensi. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Poduct Moment untuk mengetahui tingkat signifikansinya. Hasil pelaksanaan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kabupaten Bandung Barat berada pada kategori tinggi, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru berada pada kategori cukup tinggi. Terdapat hubungan yang lemah namun berpengaruh antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Terdapat hubungan yang lemah namun signifikan dan bepengaruh antara kinerja guru terhadap mutu Sekolah Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Secara simultan, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru Sekolah Dasar memiliki hubungan yang lemah namun signifikan, dan berpengaruh positif terhadap mutu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya peningkatan kualitas kepemimpinan sesuai dengan konteks di lapangan.---- This research was based on the various quality of state elementary schools in Bandung Barat District, according to the school accreditation grade (A, B, C, and not re-accredited yet). The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation of principals leadership, teachers performance, and the quality of the state elementary schools in Bandung Barat District. Moreover, it was also aimed at analyzing the influence of the principals leadership and the teachers performance both partially and comprehensively to the quality of the state elementary schools there. The method used in this research was descriptive method within the framework of quantitative approach. The samples were 207 state elementary schools of 678 population. The data collection used likert-scale questionnaires. The data analysis applied the Weighted Mean Scored (WMS) and was interpreted using score level for each dimension. The hypothesis tested using Pearson Product Moment correlation to learn the significance. The results of the research indicated that the quality of state elementary schools was in the category of high, the principals leadership and the teachers performance were in the category of average level. There was weak yet influential correlation between the principal s leadership and the schools quality. There was weak yet significant and influential correlation between the teachers performance and the the school quality. Simultaneously, both of the principals leadership and teachers performance had weak yet significant correlation and positively influencing the quality of state elementary schools in Bandung Barat District. Therefore, it is essential to improve the quality of principal leadership contextually.
