Abstract

Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh belum maksimalnya pembangunan karakter bangsa melalui program pendidikan karakter yang ditandai dengan masih banyaknya masalah di Negeri ini yang terjadi akibat karakter dan budaya masyarakat yang belum baik, seperti penyalahgunaan narkoba, korupsi yang menyebar di berbagai kalangan mulai dari kelompok elit hingga ke masyarakat menengah, tawuran pelajar dan tawuran masyarakat antar suku. Maka dari itu peneliti bermaksud untuk melihat bagaimana proses penguatan karakter yang tercipta dalam komunitas Balee of Education Kota Langsa, Provinsi Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif (qualitative approach), dengan metode studi kasus (case study). Adapun proses pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Kemudian menggunakan tahapan analisis data berupa pengumpulan data, penyajian data, reduksi data, dan verifikasi/ kesimpulan data. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan oleh peneliti menunjukkan bahwa menumbuhkan rasa kepedulian dan tanggung jawab dapat dibentuk melalui pengembangan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan etika. Program edukasi dan bakti sosial merupakan kegiatan utama yang diajarkan kepada anak-anak secara rutin oleh komunitas Balee of Education. Partisipasi aktif individu dapat membangun kepribadian dan potensi yang positif. ;---This study was back grounded by nation character development which had not been maximal through character education program which was indicated by many problems occurred in this Country as a result of nation character and culture which had not good, such as narcotic and drug abuse, corruption spread in various people from elite class until middle class, students fighting and people fighting among tribes. Therefore, the researcher intended to see how the process of character reinforcement which was created in Balee of Education community in Langsa City, Aceh Province. The approach used in this study was qualitative approach, with case study method. As for data collection process was done through observation, interview, documentation study and literature study. Then the study used data analysis stage in the form of data collection, data display, data reduction, and verification/data conclusion. The study result which was found by researcher showed that growing sense of care and responsibility can be formed by developing knowledge, skill and ethic. Education and social work programs were main activity taught to children routinely by Balee of Education community. Individual active participation can build positive personality and potential.
