Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh kecemburuan terhadap kepuasan pertemanan dengan lawan jenis; serta peranan self-disclosure sebagai moderator pengaruh kecemburuan terhadap kepuasan pertemanan dengan lawan jenis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena pertemanan dengan lawan jenis merupakan hal yang ambigu karena berbeda dengan hubungan romantis maupun pertemanan sesama jenis. Pertemanan dengan lawan jenis tersebut juga diharapkan dapat mencapai suatu kepuasan, namun adanya kecemburuan yang muncul ketika teman lawan jenis tersebut lebih dekat dengan orang lain diduga dapat memengaruhi kepuasan pertemanan tersebut, adapun diprediksikan pula bahwa self-disclosure memiliki peranan dalam memoderasi pengaruh kecemburuan terhadap kepuasan pertemanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif non eksperimen dengan cara penyebaran kuesioner kepada partisipan, kuesioner tersebut antara lain adalah Friendship Jealousy Questionnaire (FJQ; Parker, Low, Walker & Gamm, 2005), Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS; Morry, 2007), dan Emotional Self-Disclosure Scale (ESDS; Snell, Miller & Belk, 1988) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Peneliti kemudian melakukan teknik analisis regresi yang hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif kecemburuan terhadap kepuasan pertemanan. Selain itu diketahui pula bahwa self-disclosure berperan sebagai moderator pada pengaruh kecemburuan terhadap kepuasan pertemanan.---------- This study aimed to identify the influence of jealousy on cross-sex friendship satisfaction; as well as the role of self-disclosure as the moderator of the influence of jealousy on the cross-sex friendship satisfaction. This research is conducted because cross-sex friendship is an ambiguous thing because it is different from a romantic relationship or same-sex friendship. Cross-sex friendship is also expected to achieve satisfaction but the jealousy that arises when a friend of the opposite sex is closer to someone else which is expected to influence the friendship satisfaction, it is also predicted that self-disclosure has a role in moderating the influence of jealousy on the friendship satisfaction. This research was conducted by a non-experimental quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to participants, such as Friendship Jealousy Questionnaire (FJQ; Parker, Low, Walker & Gamm, 2005), Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS; Morry, 2007), and Emotional Self-Disclosure Scale (ESDS; Snell, Miller & Belk, 1988) which were adapted to Indonesian language. The researcher then performs the regression analysis technique which the result shows that there is a positive influence of jealousy on the friendship satisfaction. It is also known that self-disclosure acts as a moderator on the influence of jealousy on the friendship satisfaction.
