Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena remaja akhir yang mengalami banyak perubahan yaitu tidak mampu menyesuaikan diri dan persist dalam mengatasi tugas yang sulit. Penelitian bertujuan menguji komparasi keefektifan teknik group exercise antara kelompok kognitif dan kelompok sosial untuk meningkatkan persistence remaja akhir. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif, metode quasi experimental dengan pola the basic causal-comparative design. Populasi penelitian adalah 48 mahasiswa tingkat pertama di Program Studi S1 Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimbingan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia tahun akademik 2016/2017 dengan sampel menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket persistence dengan skala Guttman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik group exercise tidak efektif peningkatan persistence remaja akhir dan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara teknik kognitif dan teknik sosial, tapi mean kelompok kognitif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok sosial. Implikasi penelitian direkomendasikan kepada dosen pembimbing akademik dan peneliti selanjutnya.---------- The background of this research is the phenomenon of late adolescence that experience many changes in adapting and surviving to complete hard tasks. This study is aimed to compare the effectiveness of group exercise technique between the cognitive and the social groups to increase the effectiveness persistence of late adolescence. This study used a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental method and the basic causal-comparative design. The participants of the study are 48 students of the first year graduate students at the Study Program of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of the Science of Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in the academic year 2016/2017. The groups were determined by the non-probability sampling. The instrument of the study was a persistence questionnaire with Guttman scale. The result of study that group exercise technique is not effective increasing late adolescence persistence and there is insignificant difference between the cognitive and social technique, but the mean of the cognitive technique higher than social technique. Implication of the study are recommended to academy adviser and further research.
