Abstract
Kompetensi merupakan kemampuan yang menguraikan hasil yang diharapkan dari profesi terkait. Relevansi dunia kerja lulusan merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk suatu instansi pendidikan karena bisa menjadi salah satu indikator ketercapaian lulusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi mahasiswa dan relevansi dunia kerja lulusan Program Studi Teknik Mesin D3 Konsentrasi Otomotif. Kompetensi yang tertera pada Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI) adalah kompetensi mata kuliah dasar teknik mesin dan kompetensi mata kuliah dibidang otomotif yang minimal dimiliki oleh lulusan. Kompetensi ditinjau dari capaian pembelajaran mahasiswa dalam bidang dasar teknik mesin dan bidang otomotif dilihat dari beberapa mata kuliah yang tertera di SKPI. Relevansi dunia kerja yang dimaksud adalah bidang kerja, dan jabatan lulusan di dunia kerja. Relevansi bidang kerja lulusan diukur dari deskripsi pekerjaan, jabatan dan bidang pekerjaan lulusan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa dan lulusan Program Studi Teknik Mesin D3 Konsentrasi Otomotif sebanyak 35 orang. Sampel diambil dengan teknik sampling purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan 2 teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu dokumentasi dan kuesioner dengan jawaban singkat dari responden. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu kompetensi mahasiswa sudah baik dengan persentase kompetensi mata kuliah dasar teknik mesin sebesar 72,2 % (baik), dan kompetensi mata kuliah bidang otomotif sebesar 82,7 % (baik). Sedangkan relevansi dunia kerja lulusan di peroleh hasil 46% lulusan yang bekerja, 26% jabatan lulusan menjadi teknisi, dan relevansi bidang kerja dengan jurusan saat kuliah adalah sebesar 60,9 % sehingga bisa dikatakan dunia kerja lulusan relevan.---------- Competence is a skill that describes the expected results of the relevant profession. The relevance of graduates working field is very important for an educational institution because it can be indicator of graduate achievement. This research aims to determine the student competence and relevance of graduates working field from program study of Mechanical Engineering D3 in specification of Automotive. The competencies written in the Diploma Supplement are the competence from the basic courses of mechanical engineering and the competence of the automotive subjects that are certaintly owned by the graduates. Competence has been reveiwed from student achievement in basic field of mechanical engineering and automotive field, It been seen from some subjects listed in Diploma Supplement. The relevance of the working field include the field of work and the position of graduates in the working field. The relevance of graduates working field is measured from job description, job title and working field. The research using method of is analytical descriptive survey with quantitative approach. This research has been conducted to student of program study mechanical engineering D3 in specification of automotive as much as 35 students. Sample taken by the sampling technique of purposive sampling. This research using two kind of data collection tehnique they are documentation and questionnaire with short answers from respondents. The result of this research is the student competence is in good criteria with the competence percentage of basic subject of mechanical engineering is 72.2% (good), and the automotive subject competence is 82.7% (good). Mean while the relevance of the graduates working field has been obtained that from 46% employeed graduates as much as 26% become technicians and the relevance of working field with college majors is 60.9%. The data show that the graduates working field is relevant.
