Abstract
Anak tunagrahita sedang mengalami keterbelakangan mental, sehingga berdampak
kepada terhambatnya perkembangan gerak seperti keterampilan gerak lokomotor.
Keterampilan gerak lokomotor tersebut menjadi terhambat karena unsur-unsur
keterampilan motorik salah satunya yaitu unsur kemampuan mental yang sangat
berkaitan dengan pikiran mengalami keterbelakangan. Pada anak tunagrahita sedang
berinisial SA, kemampuan akan keterampilan gerak lokomotor mengalami hambatan
khususnya pada berjalan, berlari dan melompat. Untuk meningkatkan keterampilan
gerak lokomotor anak tunagrahita sedang dibutuhkan suatu latihan atau metode
pembelajaran yang dapat menarik perhatian pelaksana agar melakukannya. Senam
semaphore merupakan senam yang diringi musik dan dilakukan dengan
menggunakan media berupa tongkat berukuran 50 cm - 60 cm dan ukuran bendera
45 cm x 45 cm yang menyimbolkan huruf huruf. Aktiftas pada senam ini dapat
memberikan ketertarikan saat melakukannya. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan
untuk mengetahui pengaruh senam semaphore terhadap peningkatan keterampilan
gerak lokomotor anak tunagrahita sedang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian
ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain Subyek Tunggal atau Single Subyek
Riset (SSR) dengan menggunakan desain A-B-A. Data yang diperoleh diolah
melalui statistik deskriptif dan ditampilkan dalam bentuk persentase dan grafik serta
dianalisis menggunakan analisis perolehan mean level pada baseline-1 (A1) sampai
dengan baseline-2 (A2). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa senam semaphore
berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan keterampilan gerak lokomotor anak tunagrahita
sedang yang berinisial (SA) khususnya pada gerak berjalan, berlari dan melompat.
Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan pada setiap fase pertama baseline-1
(A1), Intervensi (B) dan baseline-2 (A2).----------Moderate Intellectual Disability Children have got a mental retardation so that
could affects to inhibition of movement development such as locomotor movements skill.
The locomotor movements skill could be hampered by locomotor skills elements such as
mental capability which is very related to mind, experiences the retardation. On the
moderate intellectual disability child whose initials (SA), her locomotor movements skill
have got obstacles specially to her walking, running, and jumping. To improve the
locomotor movements of moderate intellectual disability children, it’s necessary to do an
exercise or learning method which could attracts attention of the practitioners to do it.
Semaphore Exercise is an exercise which is accompanied by the music and done by using
some medias, they are a stick sized of 50 to 60 cm and a flag sized of 45 cm x 45 cm
which symbolize the letters. This exercise could give an interest to the practitioners when
doing it. Generally, this research aimed to know the effect of Semaphore Exercise for the
improvement of locomotor movements skill of the intellectual disability children. This
research used a methodof Single Subject Research (SSR) which was using A – B – A
programme. The obtained datas were processed by descriptive statistic and were
displayed as a percentage and graphic and also analyzed by using mean level acquisition
analyze on baseline-1 (A1) to baseline-2 (A2). The result of this research showed that
Semaphore Exercise influenced the improvement of locomotor movements skill of the
moderate intellectual disability whose initials (SA) specially to {his/her} walking,
running, and jumping. This was evidenced by the improvement in every phase, from
baseline-1 (A1), Intervention (B), to baseline-2 (A2).
