Abstract

Keterampilan menulis teks negosiasi merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa di kelas X SMA. Akan tetapi, kondisi realistis yang ada adalah masih rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi yang dimiliki oleh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi. Salah satu solusi atas permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan memilih model pembelajaran yang sesuai. Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan model yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Alasan pemilihan model ini karena model ini mampu meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran melalui kegiatan individu maupun kelompok. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang (a) profil pembelajaran menulis teks negosiassi pada peserta didik kelas X, (b) kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi peserta didik di kelas eksperimen sebelum menggunakan model Problem Based Learning, (c) pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran menulis teks negosiasi yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan media gambar yang berorientasi karakter, (d) kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi di kelas eksperimen sesudah menggunakan model Problem Based Learning, dan (e) pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching- only pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari perhitungan uji t sampel independent (uji t aqual assumed) menunjukkan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0,38. Hasil tersebut mengandung makna bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan menulis di kelas eksperimen dari sebelum perlakuan diberikan. Dengan demikian, berdasarkan hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning dengan berbantuan media gambar berorientasi karakter memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi. Selain itu, dengan model PBL ini karakter yang diperoleh siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks negosiasi berupa karakter mampu menghargai orang lain, bertanggung jawab, memiliki sikap peduli terhadap orang lain, gemar membaca, dapat berkomunikasi, dan santun dalam berbahasa. Berdasarkan uji Effect Size yang digunakan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh model PBL, diperoleh hasil 0,9. Hal ini menandakan bahwa model PBL mempunyai pengaruh yang besar terhadap kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi, Negotiating text writing skills is one of the language skills that should be possessed by students in grade X SMA. However, the realistic condition that exists is the lack of ability to write the negotiation text that is owned by the students of grade X SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi. One solution to the problem is to choose the appropriate learning model. Problem Based Learning Model (PBL) is the model chosen in this research. The reason for choosing this model is because this model can increase student activity in the learning process through individual or group activities. The objectives of this study are to obtain a description of (a) the learning profile of writing negosiassi text in class X students, (b) the ability to write the negotiation text of learners in control class and experiment class before using problem based learning model, (c) Writing negotiation text using problem based learning model with character-oriented image media, (d) the ability to write negotiation text in the experimental class after using the problem based learning model, and (e) the influence of the problem based learning model on the ability to write negotiation text. The method used in this research is quasi experimental method with design of the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used in this research are observation and test. Based on the results of the study obtained from the calculation of independent sample t test (t aqual assumed test) shows the value of sig (2-tailed) 0.38. These results imply that there is an increase in writing ability in the experimental class from before treatment is given. Thus, based on the hypothesis can be concluded that the model of Problem Based Learning with the aid of character-oriented image media has an influence on the ability to write negotiation text. In addition, with this PBL model characters obtained by students in learning to write the text of negotiation in the form of characters able to respect others, responsible, have a caring attitude towards others, like reading, can communicate, and polite in the language. Based on Effect Size test that used to know the influence of PBL model, obtained result 0,9. This indicates that the PBL model has a great influence on the ability to write negotiative texts
