Abstract

Bertambahnya usia dapat mengakibatkan penurunan fungsi fisiologis pada tubuh, hal itu akan berdampak lebih buruk apabila tidak disertai dengan aktifitas fisik. Yoga adalah salah satu aktifitas fisik yang bermanfaat baik fisik maupun psikis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan yoga terhadap konsentrasi dan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kausal-komparatif, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru wanita yang mengajar di SMPN 1 Bandung berjumlah 22 orang, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data untuk variabel konsentrasi yaitu tes grid concentration exercise ( Harris,1998) dan instrument yang digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas hidup berupa kuesioner World Health Organization Quality Of Life (WHOQOL)-BREF. Analisis data dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan program Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) Serie 20. Prosedur pengolahan data menggunakan uji statistik Multivariate, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Terdapat pengaruh latihan KAPHA yoga terhadap konsentrasi, 2) Terdapat pengaruh latihan KAPHA yoga terhadap kualitas hidup, 3) Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh latihan KAPHA yoga dan tanpa latihan KAPHA yoga terhadap konsentrasi dan kualitas hidup. Latihan KAPHA yoga bisa dijadikan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan konsentrasi dan kualitas hidup. -------------------- Increased age can lead to decreased physiological function in the body, it will be worse if not accompanied by physical activity. Yoga is one of physical activity that is beneficial both physical and psychic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of yoga practice on the concentration and quality of life. This study uses a causal-comparative method, the population in this study were female teachers who teach at SMPN 1 Bandung amounted to 22 people, taking samples using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques for concentration variables are grid concentration exercise test (Harris, 1998) and instrument used to measure quality of life in the form of World Health Organization Quality Of Life (WHOQOL) -BREF questionnaire. Data analysis was done by using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program of Serie 20. The data processing procedure used Multivariate statistic test, the result showed that 1) There is the effect of KAPHA yoga exercise on concentration, 2) There is the effect of KAPHA yoga exercise on the quality of life, 3) There is a difference in the effect of KAPHA yoga exercises and without KAPHA yoga exercises on the concentration and quality of life. KAPHA yoga exercise can be one way to improve the concentration and quality of life.
