Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku IPA terpadu yang berorientasi pada kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP pada tema hujan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Cimaung. Tahap penyiapan produk buku IPA terpadu dikembangkan dengan menggunakan model proses menulis materi ajar (MPM2A). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah instrumen kualitas buku ajar, uji keterpahaman ide pokok paragraf, tes kemampuan literasi sains, dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas buku ajar yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji keterpahaman ide pokok paragraf menunjukkan siswa dapat memahami bacaan dengan persentase 83,1% berada pada kategori tinggi (mandiri). Kemampuan literasi sains siswa meningkat dengan persentase gain ternormalisasi sebesar 31 % atau berada pada kategori sedang. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains yang menggunakan buku ajar yang dikembangkan dengan nilai Asymp. sig. (2 tailed) sebesar 0,000. Hasil pengukuran effect size menunjukkan hasil sebesar 0,49 atau berpengaruh sedang terhadap peningkatan literasi sains siswa. Buku yang dikembangkan juga mendapat tanggapan yang posistif dari siswa.

The recent study aims to develop an integrated science book oriented to the ability of science literacy students of junior high school on the theme of rain. The research method used was research and development method. The subject of the research was the students of class VII in SMPN 1 Cimaung. The preparation phase of science integrated book product was developed using the model of teaching material writing process or model proses menulismateri ajar (MPM2A). The instrument used in the research was the textbook quality instrument, comprehension test of the basic idea in the paragraph, science literacy ability test, and student response questionnaire. The results showed that the quality of textbooks developed is in the category of very feasible. The test result of the main idea of the paragraph shows that the students can understand the reading with the percentage of 83.1% which means it is in the high category (independent). The students' science literacy ability increases with a normalized gain percentage of 31% or it is in the moderate category. There is a significant difference in the ability of science literacy that uses textbooks developed with Asymp.sig (2 tailed) values of 0.000. The result of effect size measurement shows the result of 0.49 or in the moderate effect on the increase of students’ natural science literacy. The book developed also received positive feedback from the students.
