Abstract

Uang memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan manusia, tanpa mengenal nilai mata uang, seseorang akan kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari seperti berbelanja. Mengenal nilai mata uang juga perlu dimiliki siswa tunagrahita. Kenyataan yang ada adalah terdapat dua orang siswa tunagrahita ringan yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenal nilai mata uang, sehingga diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang bersifat fungsional dan menyenangkan dalam membantu permasalahan tersebut, salah satunya adalah metode role playing. Metode Role Playing adalah metode pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa untuk aktif dan ikut berperan penting dalam pembelajaran. Siswa akan terlibat langsung dalam pembelajaran mata uang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai kemampuan mengenal nilai mata uang pada siswa tunagrahita ringan melalui metode role playing kelas IX SMPLB di SLB Sukagalih Lembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain penelitian A-B-A yang terdiri dari 16 sesi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang siswa berinisial SU dan YS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada SU dan YS, diperoleh hasil bahwa subjek yang telah diberikan intervensi menunjukkan peningkatan dalam mengenal nilai mata uang. Hal ini terlihat dari data subjek pada mean level, pada subjek 1 SU, yaitu pada tahap baseline-1(A1) sebesar 28,12%, tahap intervensi (B) meningkat menjadi 60,93% dan tahap baseline-2 (A2) sebesar 85%. Sedangkan tahap baseline-1 (A1) subjek 2 YS sebesar 38,75%, intervensi (B) sebesar 68,75% dan tahap baseline-2 (A2) meningkat menjadi 82,5%. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa setelah diberikan intervensi menggunakan metode role playing terdapat peningkatan kemampuan mengenal nilai mata uang pada kedua siswa tunagrahita ringan tersebut. Dengan demikian, metode role playing dapat dijadikan metode alternatif bagi guru dalam pembelajaran mengenal nilai mata uang pada siswa tunagrahita Money holds important roles in human life, without knowing the value of currency, someone will face difficulty to provide the necessities of their life such as shopping. Recognizing the currency value also need to be possessed by students with intellectual disability. In fact, there are two students with intellectual disability who face difficulty in recognizing the currency value, so that the learning method which functional and fun is needed to help them overcome the difficulties, one of which is role playing method. Role playing method is a method which involve students to active and to come along in learning process. The students will directly participate in the currency learning. The research intend to get a description about mild intellectual disability students ability on recognizing the currency value through role playing method at IX SMPLB class in SLB Sukagalih Lembang Bandung. This research method were using a Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design consisting of 16 sessions. Subject in this reseacrh are two students with an initials SU and YS. According to the research result on SU and YS, that the subject who have been given an intervention had showed an enhancement on recognizing the currency value. It could be seen from the subject data at the mean level, on a Subject 1 SU, at baseline-1 (A1) amounted 28,12%, on the intervention (B) increased to 60,93%, and at the baseline-2 (A2) amounted 85%. While at the baseline-1 (A1) a Subject 2 YS is amounted 38,75%, the intervention (B) amounted 68,75%, and at the baseline-2 (A2) increased to 82,5%. It shows that after giving the intervention through role playing method, there is an enhancement ability in recognizing the currency value on two students with mild intellectual disability. Therefore, role playing method could be used as an alternative method for teachers in learning to know the value of currency on mild intellectual disability.
