Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis hands on-minds on activity terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA pada materi sistem indera. Pembelajaran berbasis hands on-minds on activity terdiri dari lima tahap pembelajaran diantaranya bertanya, beraktifitas dan menemukan, mengumpulkan data, menganalisis dan membuat kesimpulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan disalah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kota Bandung dengan menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment dengan menggunakan nonequivalent control grup design. Sample penelitian menggunakan dua kelas sampel kelas XI dipilih secara purpossive sampling sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Data diperoleh menggunakan instrumen lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran hands on-minds on activity pada kelas eksperimen dan instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan uraian yang diberikan di awal dan akhir pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran hands on-minds on activity menunjukan pada tahap pembelajaran mengumpulkan data, menganalisis dan bertanya memperoleh persentase 100%, untuk tahap pembelajaran bertanya, beraktifitas dan menemukan memperoleh persentase 83%. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep dapat terlihat dari nilai N-gain. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep dikelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (0,59) dibandingkan kelas kontrol (0,37). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan peningkatan penguasaan konsep yang signifikan di materi sistem indera pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. -------------The aim of this research is applying hands on-minds on activity to express the concept of sensory system’s mastery in senior high school. Learning hands on-minds on activity consist of five activities including asking, activities and finding, collecting data, analyze and create conclusion . This study was conducted at one of Senior High School in Bandung use a method of quasi experiment by using nonequivalent control group design by sampling two classes of XI grade which selected through simple random sampling as an experiment and control. The data as gathered use instrumen questionnaire of five activities hands on-minds on activity and multiple choice and essay which given in the beginning and in the end of learning process. The result of five activities in hands on-minds on activity on activities collecting data, analyze, and conclude score 100% and for asking, activities and finding score is 83%. The concept that improve in mastery can be seen from its mean value N-gain. An increase in mastery the concept at class experiment is higher (0,59) than class control (0,37). The results of this study shows that hands on minds on activity learning base give significant influence on improving mastery of student’s sensory systems concept. Conclusion of this research is there are significant differences between experiment class and control class.
