Abstract

Djoko Murdowo (NIM. 1402830). Pendidikan Karakter Berbasis Asrama Untuk Pembinaan Nilai-Nilai Budaya Organisasi (Penelitian Grounded Theory Pada Universitas Telkom) Asrama sebagai salah satu pilar pendidikan karakter sampai saat ini belum banyak dikembangkan oleh perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Padahal, keberadaan asrama sangat penting dalam mendukung pengembangan pendidikan karakter bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses ketercukupan pendidikan karakter pada satuan pendidikan, mengkaji asrama sebagai area untuk memperkuat pengembangan karakter, dengan nilai-nilai budaya organisasi yang dikembangkan, serta model pengelolaan pendidikan karakter berbasis asrama yang efektif dalam membina nilai-nilai budaya organisasi di Universitas Telkom. Alasan dilakukan penelitian ini sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi masih adanya dekadensi moral di mahasiswa, walaupun pendidikian karater sudah diberikan sejak dini. Disamping itu pendidikan karakter pada satuan pendidikan masih minim, untuk itu asrama mahasiswa dapat digunakan sebagai alternative sebagai tempat pengembangan karakter, dengan model pengelolaan yang baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Grounded Theory. Lokasi penelitian terletak di Universitas Telkom, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa, pimpinan Universitas, pengelola asrama, senior resident. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pendidikan karakter pada satuan pendidikan di Perguruan Tinggi masih minim dan dominasi pembelajaran masih pada pengembangan kognitif (2) asrama sebagai area pendidikan karakter mengembangkan tiga daya jiwa, yaitu; kognisi, afeksi, dan psikomotorik dan sebaga susbtitusi peran lingkungan rumah dan keluarga; (3) penguatan karakter dalam konteks PRIME menghasilkan 17 nilai karakter yang dikelompokan dalam 4 nilai yaitu: Spiritual, Individu, Sosial dan Kewirausahaan; (4) model pengembangan pendidikan karakter berbasis asrama dalam membina nilai budaya organisasi di Universitas Telkom sebaiknya mempunyai: visi dan misi yang jelas; struktur kurikulum terintegrasi, program kegiatan asrama yang jelas, terukur melalui 4 pilar program: Akademik, Sosial, Relgius & Agama, Minat & Bakat (ASRAMA); Struktur organisasi yang jelas tentang tugas, peran, tanggung jawab dan job description; menggunakan pendekatan habituasi dan pengkondisian; adanya tolok ukur penilaian kehidupan asrama; serta didukung sarana dan prasarana penunjang yang memadai. Dormitory-Based Character Education For Organization Cultural Values Development (Grounded Theory Research At Telkom University). Dormitory as one of character education pillars has not been widely developed up until now by universities in Indonesia. In fact, the existence of dormitory is very important in supporting the development of character education for students. This study aims to examine the adequacy process of character education in educational units, assessing dormitories as areas to strengthen character development, with developed organizational culture values, as well as effective dormitory-based character education management model in fostering organizational culture values at Telkom University. The reason for conducting this research is as a solution to overcome moral decadence in students, although the character education has been given from an early age. Besides, the character education in educational unit is still minimal, that is why student dormitory can be used as an alternative place for character development, with a good management model. This research uses qualitative approach with Grounded Theory method. Location of the research is at Telkom University, with research subjects consist of students, university leaders, dormitory managers, and senior residents. The result of this research shows that (1) character education in educational units at universities is still minimal and the dominance of learning is still on cognitive development; (2) dormitory as character education area develops three soul powers, they are; cognition, affection, and psychomotor, and as a substitution of the role of home and family environment; (3) character reinforcement in the PRIME context generates 17 character values grouped in 4 values such as; Spiritual, Individual, Social and Entrepreneurship; (4) development model of dorm-based character education in fostering organizational culture values at Telkom University supposed to have clear vision and mission, integrated curriculum structure, a clear program of dormitory activity, measured through 4 program pillars: Academic, Social, Religious & Religion, Interests & Talents (ASRAMA); clear organizational structure of tasks, roles, responsibilities and job descriptions; using habituation and conditioning approaches; there is existence of assessment benchmarks of the dormitory life; and supported by supporting facilities and infrastructures.
