Abstract

Praktik kerja industri merupakan bentuk kerja sama antara pihak sekolah dengan pihak industri yang pembelajarannya dilakukan dengan mendekatkan pada dunia kerja disebut sebagai pembelajaran work based learning (WBL). Praktik Kerja Industri yang berjalan di SMK Negeri 6 Bandung merupakan bentuk penyelenggaraan pendidikan keahlian profesional yang memadukan secara sistematik dan sinkronisasi antara program pendidikan di sekolah dan program dunia industri. Kegiatan tersebut diperoleh melalui bekerja langsung di dunia kerja untuk mencapai suatu tingkat keahlian profesional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesiapan siswa SMK N 6 Bandung dalam menghadapi praktik kerja industri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai variabel mandiri, baik satu variabel atau lebih (independen) tanpa membuat perbandingan, atau menghubungkan dengan variabel lain. Jumlah sampel yang diteliti adalah sebanyak 57 responden. Variabel yang diteliti terdiri dari satu variabel yaitu kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi praktik kerja industri yang terdiri dari aspek kesiapan mental, bimbingan karir, dan tes kognitif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan angket dan tes kognitif. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi praktik kerja industri yang dilihat dari aspek kesiapan mental berada pada kategori cukup baik yaitu sebesar 35%, pada aspek bimbingan karir termasuk dalam kategori cukup baik sebesar 33%, dan pada aspek tes kognitif sebesar 54% yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dijelaskan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kesiapan siswa SMK N 6 Bandung tergolong dalam kategori cukup baik. Industrial Work Practices that runs in SMK Negeri 6 Bandung is a form of professional skills education that integrates systematically and synchronized between education programs in schools and industrial programs. Such activities are obtained through working directly in the workforce to achieve a level of professional expertise. This study aims to determine the level of readiness of students SMK N 6 Bandung in the face of industrial work practices. This research uses quantitative descriptive method that is done to know the value of independent variable, either one variable or more (independent) without making comparison, or connect with other variables. The number of samples researched were 57 respondents. The variables studied consist of one variable that is the readiness of students in the face of industrial work practices consisting of aspects of mental readiness, career guidance, and cognitive tests. Data were collected using questionnaires and cognitive tests. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the level of readiness of students in facing the industrial work practice which seen from the aspect of mental readiness is in good enough category that is equal to 35%, on the aspect of career guidance included in good enough category equal to 33%, and on aspect of cognitive test equal to 54% are included in either category. Based on the results of research that has been described can be concluded that the level of readiness of students SMK N 6 Bandung belonging to the category quite well.
