Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul implementasi teknik melindungi diri tunanetra pasca sekolah di Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi yang memiliki fokus dan tujuan yang dijabarkan dalam mengetahui implementasi teknik melindungi diri, kendala, dan upaya yang dihadapi oleh tunanetra pasca sekolah di Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif tentang implementasi teknik melindungi diri tunanetra pasca sekolah di Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap empat orang tunanetra pasca sekolah dan dua orang responden dari pihak Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tunanetra pasca sekolah di Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi hanya dapat mengimplementasikan teknik tegak lurus dengan benda dan teknik paralel dengan benda. Kendala yang dialami dalam faktor internal yaitu pengetahuan yang kurang dan tidak melatih kemampuan teknik melindungi diri. Sedangkan dalam faktor eksternal yaitu lingkungan atau benda-benda di sekitar yang baru diketahui dan tidak adanya tenaga ahli untuk mengajarkan O&M yang berdampak pada tidak adanya program pengembangan O&M. Upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan dalam faktor internal yaitu belajar dan berlatih menggunakan teknik melindungi diri. Dalam faktor eksternal untuk sekolah yaitu guru harus memberikan pembelajaran dan arahan dengan maksimal dan diadakan pembelajaran teknik melindungi diri di jenjang SMA. Sedangkan untuk Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Kota Cimahi mendatangkan guru atau ahli O&M dan membuat program pengembangan O&M. ------------ This research is titled implementation of blind self protective techniques post-school in Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City has the focus and purpose outlined know the implementation of self-protective techniques, constraints, and efforts faced by the blind post-school in Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach about implementation of blind self protective techniques post-school in Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City. A study was conducted on four post-school blind people and two people respondents from Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the study show that blind post-school in Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City can only implement techniques vertical to object and techniques parallel to objects. Constraints experienced in the internal factors are less knowledge and do not practice self-protective techniques ability. While in the external factor is the environment or objects around the newly known and haven’t O&M teacher which impacts on the absence of O&M development program. Effort to overcome the problems in internal factor is leaern and practice using self-protective techniques. In external factor for the school, teachers must provide learning and direction with maximum and held self-protective techniques learning at the level of high school. While the Yayasan Wiyata Mandiri Cimahi City, can bring in teacher or O&M expert and make O&M development program.
