Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara panjang lengan dan koordinasi mata tangan terhadap akurasi dan kecepatan lemparan pitcher dalam olahraga softball. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan studi korelasional. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pitcher di setiap klub Softball di kota Bandung sebanyak 15 orang yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur meteran, coordination reaction time, speed radar gun, dan overhand accuracy throw. Dengan hasil penelitian panjang lengan terhadap akurasi adalah r = 0.260, nilai sig. 0.349 > 0.05, terhadap kecepatan bola r = 0.069, nilai sig. 0.481 > 0.05, sedangkan hasil penelitian koordinasi mata tangan terhadap akurasi adalah r = 0.514, nilai sig. 0.050 < 0.05, terhadap kecepatan bola r = 0.131, nilai sig. 0.641 > 0.05. Hasil dari panjang tangan dan koordinasi secara bersama-sama terhadap akurasi adalah r = 0.597, nilai sig. 0.071 > 0.05, terhadap kecepatan bola r = 0.511, nilai sig. 0.163 > 0.05. Menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara panjang lengan dan koordinasi mata tangan terhadap akurasi dan kecepatan lemparan pitcher dalam olahraga softball..

The purpose of the research is to find out the relation between arm length and hand-eye coordination towards accuration and speed of pitcher in softball. This research use quantitative descriptive method with correlational study. The samples used in this research are the pitchers in every softball club in Bandung, there are 15 pitchers that we choose with purposive sampling technique. The instruments that we used in this research are measuring tool, coordination reaction time, speed radar gun, and overhead accuracy throw. And the result of the research for arm length towards accuration are r = 0.260, significant value. 0.349 > 0.05, towards ball speed r = 0.069, significant value. 0.481 > 0.05, while the results of the research for hand-eye coordination towards accuration are r = 0.514, significant value. 0.050 < 0.05, towards ball speed r = 0.131, significant value. 0.614 > 0.05. And the results of the research for arm length and coordination togetherly towards accuration are r = 0.597, significant value. 0.071 > 0.05, towards ball speed r = 0.511, significant value. 0.163 > 0.05. It shows that there are insignificant relations between arm length and hand-eye coordination towards accuration and speed of pitcher in softball.
