Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum optimalnya mutu pendidikan Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Purwakarta, salah satunya dilihat dari masih adanya nilai akreditasi sekolah tahun 2016 yang masih rendah. Supervisi Akademik Kepala Sekolah dan Profesionalisme Guru sebagai beberapa faktor yang berpengaruh. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif didukung dengan studi dokumentasi serta angket sebagai alat pengumpul data utama dengan sampel penelitian kepala sekolah dan guru. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik parametrik. Berdasarkan analisis data, ditemukan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap profesionalisme guru dengan kategori rendah, profesionalisme guru memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu pendidikan dengan kategori rendah. Adapun supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu pendidikan melalui profesionalisme guru dengan kategori sangat kuat. Berdasarkan hasil temuan pada penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh sangat kuat terhadap mutu pendidikan melalui profesionalisme guru. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini adalah: (1) Kepala sekolah harus mengoptimalkan tindak lanjut hasil supervisi akademik berupa pembinaan kepada guru yang disupervisinya sehingga diharapkan adanya perubahan yang lebih baik; (2) Guru harus mampu memperbaiki profesionalismenya terutama pengembangan profesional dalam memperbaiki kualitas pengetahuan dan keterampilannya; (3) Guru hendaknya terus berupaya untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, salah satunya dengan mengikuti kegiatan ilmiah seperti lokakarya, seminar, penataran dan pendidikan lanjutan.;---The research background is based on the non-optimum work of the state of elementary school in Purwakarta region. One of the indicators is that there is still low score for the school accreditation in 2016. The academic supervision conducted by the principle and teachers’ professionalism as one of the influencing factors. The method used in the research was descriptive method with quantative approach supported by a documentary study and questionnaire as the main data collector tool with a research sample taken from the principle and teachers. The data analysis was conducted using parametric statistics. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the academic supervision conducted by the principle gave a positive and significant impact toward teachers’ professionalism which has resulted low score category. The teachers’ professionalism gave positive and significant impact toward the education quality with low score category. Besides that the academic supervision conducted by the principle gave a positive and significant influence toward the education quality through the teachers’ professionalism which has resulted the very high category. Based on the findings of the research it can be summed up that the academic supervision conducted by the principle gave a very strong influence toward the education quality through teachers’ professionalism. The recommendations come from the research are that: (1) The principle must optimize the follow-up actions that is resulted by the academic supervision in form of the guidance for the supervised-teachers so that it is expected that the guidance results a better change. (2) Teachers must be able to refine their professionalism especially their professional development in bettering their knowledge quality and skills; (3) Teachers are to put efforts to improve education quality, one of the efforts is participating in scientific activities such as workshop, improvement seminars, and advance education.
