Abstract

Hasil studi TIMSS dan PISA pada beberapa tahun terakhir menunjukkan siswa Indonesia pada jenjang SMP masih memiliki kemampuan yang rendah dalam menganalisis dan akan mempengaruhi perkembangan kemampuan analisis pada jenjang SMA. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya pencapaian kemampuan analisis siswa dikarenakan kurangnya pembelajaran yang tidak dikaitkan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari serta dengan disiplin ilmu yang lain sehingga pembahasan materi tidak komprehensif. Pendekatan connected merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat menghubungkan antar konsep dalam satu lingkup bidang IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penguasaan konsep, kemampuan analisis dan komunikasi tertulis siswa setelah pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan connected. Selain itu, tujuan lain dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penguasaan konsep, kemampuan analisis serta kemampuan komunikasi tertulis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian weak eksperimen yang menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Adapun yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA PGII 1 Bandung tahun ajaran 2012/2013, sebanyak 36 orang siswa. Penguasaan konsep di ukur dengan menggunakan soal pilihan ganda, sedangkan kemampuan analisis dan komunikasi tertulis siswa di ukur dengan menggunakan soal essay. Data yang diuji secara statistik adalah nilai N-gain. Uji prasyarat dilakukan sebelum melakukan uji hipotesis dan korelasi. Hasil one sample t-test penguasaan konsep t=2.82, kemampuan analisis t= -0.573 dan kemampuan komunikasi t= -2.546 dengan α=0.05 dapat diambil kesimpulan peningkatan yang terjadi termasuk dalam kategori sedang untuk penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan analisis. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan angka r=0,420/kategori cukup (penguasaan konsep-analisis), r=0,280/kategori rendah (penguasaan konsep-komunikasi) dan r=0,867/kategori sangat tinggi (analisis-komunikasi). Berdasarkan uji korelasi diketahui terdapat hubungan yang sangat tinggi antara kemampuan analisis dan komunikasi.

Results of TIMSS and PISA studies in recent years show Indonesian students at the junior high school still has a low ability to analyze and will influence the development of analytical skills at the high school level. One cause of low achievement due to the lack of analytical skills of students who are not learning associated with everyday life as well as with other disciplines so that the material is not a comprehensive discussion. Connected learning approach is a strategy that can connect between concepts within the scope of the field of science. This study aims to analyze the mastery of concepts, analytical and written communication skills of students after learning approach connected. In addition, another goal of the study is to examine the relationship between mastery of concepts, analytical skills and written communication skills. This research is weak experimental design using one-group pretest-posttest. As for the research subjects were students of class X SMA PGII 1 Bandung academic year 2012/2013, as many as 36 students. Mastery of concepts is measured by using multiple choice questions, while the analytical and written communication skills of students is measured by using the essay. The data were statistically tested N-gain value. Prerequisite test performed prior to hypothesis testing and correlation. Results of one sample t -test t = 2.82 for mastery of concept , t = -0573 for analytical skills and t = -2546 for communication skills with α = 0.05 can be concluded that the increase occurred in the medium category for mastery of concepts and analytical skills. The test results showed the correlation r = 0.420/ enough category ( mastery of the concept -analysis ), r = 0.280/low category ( mastery of concepts-communication ) and r = 0.867/very high category ( analysis-communication ). Based on the known correlation test is very high there is a relationship between analytical and communication skills.
