Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemunculan hakikat sains pada buku teks Biologi SMA di Kota Bandung yang paling banyak digunakan. Buku yang digunakan adalah buku teks Biologi SMA kelas X, XI dan XII dari dua penerbit yang berbeda. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh konsep atau materi yang terdapat pada seluruh buku teks Biologi SMA di kota Bandung. Sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah tujuh bab yang terjaring dari kedua buku teks Biologi SMA yang terpilih. Data dijaring menggunakan lembar observasi kemunculan hakikat sains yang telah diadaptasi dari Lederman et. al. (2002). Data tersebut didukung pula oleh pemahaman siswa SMA kelas X, XI dan XII tentang hakikat sains yang dijaring melalui kuesioner. Rata-rata proporsi kemunculan hakikat sains dari kedua buku pada komponen sains bersifat empiris sebesar 9,29%, teori dan hukum dalam sains sebesar 63,40%, kreativitas dan imajinasi dalam sains sebesar 8,90%, teori laden sebesar 5,33%, sosial dan budaya yang melekat dalam sains sebesar 8,69%, mitos metode ilmiah sebesar 1,40%, dan pengetahuan ilmiah bersifat tentatif sebesar 2,99%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa buku teks Biologi SMA yang telah dianalisis sudah memuat ketujuh komponen hakikat sains. Akan tetapi, proporsinya tidak seimbang. Kata kunci : analisis buku teks, buku teks Biologi SMA, hakikat sains. The aim of this study is to analyze the emergence of the nature of science on the most used senior high school biology textbooks from two different publishers. The population in this study is all of the concepts in all senior high school biology textbooks in Bandung area. The sample in this study is seven chapters of the senior high school biology textbooks that was selected. The data was obtained using observation sheets that has been adapted from Lederman et. al. (2002). The data also supported by the all grade on senior high school student’s understanding of the nature of science that was obtained through a questionnaire. The average proportion of the emergence of the nature of science from the both of the textbooks is: the empirical nature of science knowledge was 9,29%; scientific theories and laws was 63,40%; the creative and imaginative nature of scientific knowledge was 8,90%; the theory-laden nature of scientific knowledge was 5,33%; the social and cultural embeddedness of scientific knowledge was 8,69%; myth of scientific methods was 1,40%; the tentative nature of scientific knowledge was 2,99%. The result shows that senior high school biology textbooks was includes the seven elements of the nature of science. However, the proportion is not equal.
