Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI IIS SMA Negeri 3 Sumedang menjadi latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini. Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan bagian dari kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang menjadi kompetensi dasar pada kurikulum 2013. Melalui model Problem Based Learning dengan metode Problem Solving diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum diberi perlakuan dan setelah diberi perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas eksperimen setelah diberi perlakuan, dan perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas kontrol setelah diberi perlakuan. Subjek terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IIS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IIS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan software iteman versi 3.00 dan SPSS versi 16 serta pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan statistika parametrik melalui uji t independent (t-test independent) dan paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan pada masing-masing kelas.----------- Low critical thinking skills class XI IIS SMAN 3 Sumedang become background implementation of this research. The critical thinking skills is part of a high order of thinking into the basic competence in curriculum 2013. Through the curriculum model of Problem Based Learning with Problem Solving methods expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this research was to determine differences in the students critical thinking skills before being treated and after treated in the experimental class and the control class, the difference in the students critical thinking in the experimental class after being given treatment, differences in the students critical thinking in the control class after being given treatment. Subjects consisted of two classes, namely XI IIS 1 as the experimental class, XI IIS 2 as an control class. The method used is a quasy experiment with using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Collecting data using multiple choice tests. Processing data using by software version iteman 3.00 and SPSS version 16 as well as testing the hypothesis by using statistical parametric through independent t test and paired t-test. The results showed that there are differences in the students' critical thinking skills before and after being given treatment in each class
