Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang muncul dalam proses pembelajaran, yaitu kendala dalam menemukan metode yang tepat khususnya dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi. Dengan demikian, diperlukan sebuah metode pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan materi ajar yang akan disampaikan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan penggunaan kelas eksperimean dan kelas kontrol serta melalui tahap pretest dan posttest. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga rumusan masalah yaitu (1) bagaimana kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa di kelas eksperimen? (2) bagaimana kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa di kelas kontrol? (3) apakah teknik pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi? Dengan demikian, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dan untuk mengetahui keefektifan metode kooperatif tipe two stay two stray. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan awal peserta didik dalam menulis teks deskripsi tergolong rendah. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari perolehan nilai rata-rata kedua kelas baik eksperimen maupun kotrol yang tidak mencapai KKM. Nilai rata-rata awal siswa pada kelas eksperimen adalah 55,1, sedangkan kelas kontrol 47,4. Setelah kelas eksperimen mendapat perlakuan berupa penerapan metode kooperatif tipe two stay two stray dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi, nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan menjadi 76,3, sedangkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan teknik diskusi menjadi 64,9. Berdasarkan pengolahan data dengan uji-t diperoleh nilai signifikan thitung (5,017) dan ttabel (2,001), sehingga (5,017) > ttabel (2,001) pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Selain itu, nilai signifikansi yang dihasilkan adalah 0,000 (2-tailed) < (α) = 0,05, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa dengan menggunakan metode kooperatif tipe two stay two stray dengan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi tanpa menggunakan metode tersebut. Sebagai simpulan, metode kooperatif tipe two stay two stray efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi.;--- This research is motivated by problems that arise in the learning process, namely the constraints in finding the right method, especially in learning to write descriptions text. Thus, it takes an interesting learning methods and in accordance with the teaching materials to be delivered. The method used is experiment with the use eksperiment classes and control classes as well as through the pretest and posttest phase. This study consists of three formulation of the problem: (1) how the ability to write a description text of the students in the experimental class? (2) how the writing description text skills of students in the class control? (3) whether learning techniques Two Stay Two Stray effectively used in learning to write text descriptions? Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the ability to write a description text of the students in the experimental class and grade control and to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative method two stay two stray. The results showed that the ability of early learners in writing a description text is low. It can be seen from the acquisition of the average value of the two classes of both experimental and controls of which do not reach the KKM. The average value of the early students in the experimental class was 55.1, while the control class 47.4. After the experimental class are treated in the form of the application of cooperative method two stay two stray in learning to write text descriptions, the average value of the experimental class increased to 76.3, while the control class that uses the technique of discussion to 64.9. Based on data processing with the t-test values obtained significantly tcount (5.017) and TTable (2,001), so that (5.017)> t table (2,001) at the level of 95%. Moreover, the significance of the resulting value is 0.000 (2-tailed) <(α) = 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. Thus, it means there is a significant difference between students' ability to write a description text using the type of cooperative two stay two stray with the ability to write a text description without using such methods. In conclusion, the method cooperative two stay two stray effectively applied in learning to write text descriptions.
