Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh asumsi yang menyatakan pentingnya peserta didik memiliki kemampuan penyesuaian sosial yang baik di sekolah. Kelompok teman sebaya memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan remaja. Keberadaan dukungan sosial dari teman sebaya membantu peserta didik dalam melakukan hubungan yang tepat dengan situasi sekolah. Secara umum penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi dukungan sosial teman sebaya terhadap penyesuaian sosial peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 9 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan studi deskriptif dan desain penelitian korelasional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportioned random sampling. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan sebanyak 202 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) dukungan sosial teman sebaya memiliki kontribusi positif signifikan terhadap penyesuaian sosial peserta didik di sekolah, (2) secara umum peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 9 Bandung memiliki penerimaan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dalam kategori tinggi, artinya peserta didik memiliki respon yang baik terhadap bentuk-bentuk dukungan sosial yang diterima dari teman sebaya mereka di sekolah berupa dukungan emosional, dukungan penghargaan, dukungan instrumental, dukungan informasi dan dukungan jaringan sosial, dan (3) secara umum peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 9 Bandung memiliki kemampuan penyesuaian sosial dalam kategori kurang baik, artinya peserta didik memiliki kemampuan yang kurang memadai dalam hal menghormati dan menerima peraturan sekolah, memiliki minat serta ikut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan-kegiatan di sekolah, menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan teman dan guru/staf sekolah, menerima batasan dan tanggung jawab sebagai peserta didik, serta membantu sekolah merealisasikan tujuan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. ;---The background to the research is an assumption that it is important for students to have good social adjustment at school. Peer group has an important role in adolescents’ life. The existence of social support from peer group can help students to make appropriate relations with school social situations. In general, the research aims to find the contribution of peer social support to students’ social adjustment of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 9 Bandung Academic Year 2015/2016. The research uses quantitative approach with descriptive study, and correlational statistical design. Sampling uses proportioned random sampling technique. Based on the criteria, the sample set as much as 202 students. Research results show that (1) peer social support contributed positively and signifiantly to students’ social adjustment at school, (2) almost all of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 9 Bandung have a high level acceptance of peer social support, it means the students have good response on peer social support, including emotional support, esteem support, instrumental support, informational support, and network support (3) almost all of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 9 Bandung have a poor level of social adjustment, it means the students have inadequate ability to respect and accept of school authority, interest and participation in school activities, friendly relations with classmates and teachers, they also have inadequate ability to accept limitations and responsibilities, and to help school in realize both intrinsic and extrinsic objectives.
