    Abstract

    Kemunculan institusi BIPA di berbagai negara menunjukkan adanya peningkatan minat penutur asing untuk mempelajari bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan mendasar penutur asing mempelajari bahasa Indonesia adalah agar dapat berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Indonesia. Agar dapat berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Indonesia, penutur asing harus menguasai empat keterampilan berbahasa atau setidaknya keterampilan menyimak dan berbicara. Berbicara dan menyimak adalah keterampilan yang harus dikuasai untuk melakukan kegiatan komunikasi dua arah dan tatap muka. Terdapat dua ragam dalam penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yaitu formal dan informal sesuai dengan konteksnya. Tiap pembelajar pun memiliki karakteristik dan gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pembelajaran BIPA yang dapat mengakomodasi perbedaan gaya belajar dan mengenalkan ragam bahasa yang sesuai dengan konteks dan situasi tuturan. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini disusun untuk mengetahui profil metode pembelajaran berbicara yang digunakan pengajar BIPA, mengetahui proses pembelajaran berbicara pada saat penerapan pembelajaran berbasis observasi, dan mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan pembelajaran berbasis observasi terhadap kemampuan berbicara subjek. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen subjek tunggal dengan desain A-B-A. Fase baseline-1 dilaksanakan sebanyak empat sesi, fase intervensi dilaksanakan sebanyak delapan sesi, dan fase baseline-2 dilaksanakan sebanyak empat sesi. Metode yang sering digunakan oleh pengajar di dalam kelas adalah metode tanya jawab di mana pengajar selalu memberikan stimulus kepada pembelajar untuk selalu berbicara dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penerapan pembelajaran berbasis observasi dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara subjek. Hal tersebut terbukti dengan hasil penelitian yaitu terjadinya peningkatan rata-rata nilai subjek pada tiap kondisi. Presesntase overlap yang didapatkan oleh subjek adalah 0% yang berarti tidak adanya data tumpang tindih antara kondisi baseline-1 dan kondisi intervensi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis observasi dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara subjek ---------- The emersion of BIPA in many countries shows that there are enhancements of interest of foreigners to learn Bahasa. The main purpose of foreigners to learn Bahasa is to communicate using Bahasa. To be able to communicate using Bahasa, foreigners should master the four basic skills of Bahasa or at least mastered listening and speaking skills. Listening and speaking skill are required to do 2-way communication and face to face communication. There are two manners in using Bahasa, formal and informal according to the context. Each learner also has to have different learning methods and characteristics. Because of those reasons, BIPA learning methods that accommodate the different in learning methods and able to introduce language manner which appropriate with the context and circumstances are required. The formulation of problems in this research are arranged to know speaking learning methods profile that used by BIPA teachers, to know the speaking learning process when learning-based observation are applied, and to know the influence of the learning-based observation application to the subject’s speaking ability. The research method that is used in this research is single subject experiment method using A-B-A design. Baseline-1 phase was held in four sessions, intervention phase was held in eight sessions, and baseline-2 phase was held in four sessions. Common methods that often used by teachers in the class are questioning and answering method where the teacher gives stimulus to learners to encourage learners to speak in Bahasa. The application of learning-based observation method is able to develop subject’s speaking skill. It is proven by the result of the research where there is enhancement of subject’s score average in every circumstance. Overlap percentage that achieved by subject is 0% which mean, there are no overlapping data between baseline-1 and intervention circumstance. It shows that the application of learning-based observation method is able to develop subject’s speaking skill.
