Abstract

Novel grafis merupakan salah satu bentuk dalam seni komik dan tidak memiliki perbedaan bentuk maupun format yang berbeda dengan buku komik kebanyakan. Bentuk ini sebagai bahan penelitian atau sebagai bentuk karya masih belum banyak di Indonesia. Bahkan di Departemen Pendidikan Seni Rupa sendiri belum ditemukan skripsi yang membahas tema tersebut. Maka penulis membuat karya ini sebagai upaya dalam menambah kuantitas format yang masih sedikit itu. Dalam penciptaannya, penulis membuat skrip cerita terlebih dahulu sebelum diterjemahkan ke bentuk gambar. Ciri khas Jenis komik ini adalah pemilihan tema cerita yang lebih dewasa. Rumusan masalah yang diangkat yaitu konsep berkarya novel grafis “Waktu” dan analisis visual novel grafis “Waktu”. Novel grafis “Waktu” memakai gaya gambar manga, dengan jumlah halaman sebanyak 199 halaman beserta sampul. Skripsi novel grafis “Waktu” berisi anilisis cerita dan analisis visual karya novel grafis “Waktu”. Ditemukan kecenderungan menggunakan jarak pandang medium shot dan sudut pandang eye level angle. Cenderung menempatkan subjek di tengah panel dan tidak memiringkan subjek dalam setiap panelnya. Bentuk panel yang sering digunakan adalah panel tertutup. Sedangkan untuk transisi, intensitas dan hubungan kata-gambar cenderung digunakan teknik aksi ke aksi untuk transisi, menembus pakem untuk intensitas dan berpotongan untuk hubungan kata-gambar. Dengan adanya karya ini diharapkan menambah pemahaman akan novel grafis dan memperkaya jenis komik yang ada di Indonesia. Kata kunci: Ilustrasi, Komik, Novel Grafis. Graphic novel is one of form in sequential art and it has no difference appearance or form compare with regular comic book. This theme as reseach subject or as an art work still rarely in Indonesia. Even in Departemen Pendidikan Seni Rupa it self, Has not find out the thesis that worked through it. Then author choosed it mean for increace the quantity of graphic novel. In the way to working on it, author write script first before make the sketch. The most mark in comic is a selection of story’s theme which tend to adult theme. With the formulation of the problem is working concept of graphic novel “Waktu” and visual analisys of graphic novel “Waktu”. Graphice novel “Waktu” uses manga style, with number of pages are 119 pages with cover. The paper of Graphic Novel “Waktu” contains story analisys and visual analisys of graphic novel “waktu”. Find out that author tend to use medium shot technique for shot length and eye level technique for shot angle. Tend to put subject in center and tend to not tilt the image. Closed panel tend to use for panel shape. Whereas for transitions, intensities, and realition of word and picture, Author tend to use action to action for transitions. Through the frame for intensition and slice of for realition of word and picture. With this graphic novel, hope to increase our comprehension about graphic novel.
