Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang terjadi di kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 40 Bandung. Hasil observasi pra penelitian yang menghasilkan beberapa temuan yaitu kemampuan berfikir siswa khususnya dalam berfikir analisis masih sangat rendah terbukti dengan pertanyaan dan jawaban siswa yang kurang begitu memahami materi, penjelasan siswa untuk pertanyaan kurang rinci, dan kemampuan siswa yang hanya membaca dan menghafal materi dari buku saja,. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mencoba menerapkan model Problem Based Learning, sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi kemampuan berpikir analisis pada siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Kemmis dan Taggart, dengan melakukan 3 siklus yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, observasi, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan. Pada setiap siklusnya siswa diberikan materi yang mengstimulus peserta didik, penugasan berfikir analisis berawal dari pencarian masalah sampai merumuskan solusi untuk permasalahan yang nantinya akan disampaikan melalui presentasi di kelas. Adapun hasil peningkatan berpikir analisis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat terlihat dari beberapa indikator yaitu menentukan permasalahan, membuat solusi, laporan hasil analisis , sinkronisasi permasalahan dan solusi, serta mencantumkan refferensi data yang diperoleh. Seluruh aspek ini mengalami perkembangan dari setiap pelaksanaan siklus pertama sampai dengan pelaksanaan siklus ketiga. Refleksi hasil observasi dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengalami kendala dalam alokasi waktu dan pemahaman siswa mengenai langkah-langkah pembelajaran berbasis masalahpun diawal cukup terkendala namun dari semua kendala tersebut mampu teratasi dengan dilakukannya perbaikan-perbaikan dari setiap siklusnya.;---This research is motivated by the issues raised in class VIII-A SMP Negeri 40 Bandung. The results of observations pre-study that produced some findings that thinking ability of students, especially in thinking analysis is still very low as evidenced by questions and answers students who are not so understanding the material, explanations students to question less detailed, and the ability of the students who only read and memorize the material from books alone , Therefore, in this study, the researchers tried to apply the model of Problem Based Learning, as an effort to improve the competence of analytical thinking skills in students in learning social studies. This research is a classroom action research design Kemmis and Taggart, to perform three cycles that includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used in this research, observation, documentation and field notes. At each cycle students are given materials that stimulate learners, thinking assignment begins analysis of the search problem to formulate a solution to the problems which will be delivered through a presentation in class. The results of the analysis thinks the increase of students in social studies can be seen from several indicators that determine the problem, create a solution, reports the results of the analysis, synchronization problems and solutions, as well as reference lists of data obtained. All aspects of this experience of development of each execution of the first cycle until the implementation of the third cycle. Reflections on the observation in these study researchers have constraints in the allocation of time and the students' understanding of the measures was the beginning of a problem-based learning is quite constrained, but of all these obstacles was able to overcome by doing the improvements of each cycle.
