Abstract

Sebuah penelitian survey yang dilakukan untuk mengungkap profil hasil belajar siswa SMP yang terdiri dari penguasaan konsep, kemampuan berpikir logis dan sikap lingkungan yang dikaitkan dengan gender. Sejumlah siswa kelas VII SMP di Kabupaten Bandung wilayah selatan (n=152), dengan teknik sampel bertujuan (purposive sampling) yang mewakili kemampuan siswa tingkat tinggi, sedang dan rendah, dengan proporsi yang seimbang. Data dijaring melalui instrumen yang disesuaikan dengan standar isi Kurikulum Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) SMP kelas VII-Semester 2. Instrumen soal tes terdiri dari 30 soal pilihan ganda (PG) dengan empat pilihan jawaban (ranah C1-C3) dan lima soal tes esai (ranah C4-C6) berdasarkan proses kognitif dari Bloom Revisi pada dimensi pengetahuan faktual dan konseptual. Tes kemampuan berpikir logis (TOLT), kuesioner sikap lingkungan (20 pernyataan berdasarkan pada kerangka berfikir Krathwohl et al., pada domain sikap) digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk menjaring data pada saat sebelum (pretest) dan setelah proses pembelajaran (posttest). Hasil data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisa statistik deskriptif dipisahkan berdasarkan gender. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penguasaan konsep siswa laki-laki pada soal PG lebih baik (40%) dari siswa perempuan (25%). Kemampuan menalar pada soal esai perempuan kategori tinggi (26,3%) lebih baik dari siswa laki-laki (1,3%). Kemampuan Berpikir Logis (TOLT) semua siswa sebagian besar berada pada level transisi (48%). Jumlah siswa perempuan sudah lebih banyak mencapai level operasi formal (55,3%) dibandingkan siswa laki-laki (32,9%). Jenis penalaran kombinatorial merupakan jenis penalaran terbanyak yang diperoleh oleh seluruh siswa (59,76%). Sikap terhadap lingkungan tidak berbeda nyata antara siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan (3,9% dan 4,6%). Hubungan kemampuan penguasaan konsep siswa tentang materi ekosistem berkorelasi positif terhadap kemampuan penalaran (r=0,047) dan terhadap kemampuan berpikir logis (r= 0,043), tetapi berkorelasi negatif dengan sikap (r=-0,031). Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penguasaaan konsep baik, memiliki kemampuan penalaran yang baik pula, tetapi tidak dengan sikap lingkungan mereka. ;--- A study using survey was conducted to analyze the student’s achievement of junior high school students, as well as their attitude toward the environment on Ecosystem topic in relation to gender. A number of seventh graders of Junior high school in Southern part of Bandung Disctrict (n=152) using purposive sampling method which represented high- medium- and low-achivers. Data was collected through instruments prepared derived from four basic competencies from Competence Standard in Educational Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). Thirty simple multiple choice test items (MC) with four options (C1-C3) and five case study essay test (C4-C6) based on Cognitive process of Bloom Revision on factual and conceptual dimension, test of logical thinking, (TOLT), and rating scale on attitude toward environment, questionnaire on attitude (20 statements based on Krathwohl et al. framework on affective domain) were used as instruments to collect data before and after the teaching learning processes, which then were analyzed using descriptive statistics especially based on gender. Research findings showed that the mastery of concepts of male students in a matter is better MC (40%) than female students (25%). The ability to reason in the essay category of girls is high (26.3%) and better than male students (1.3%). Logical Thinking Ability (TOLT) all students mostly at the level of the transition (48%). The number of female students had reached the highest level of formal operations (55.3%) than boys (32.9%). Type of combinatorial reasoning is a type of reasoning most acquired by all students (59.76%). Attitudes towards the environment was not significantly different between male students and female students (3.9% and 4.6%). Relations cognitive abilities mastery of concepts students will be positively correlated to the ecosystem material reasoning ability (r=0.047) and the ability to think logically (r=0.043), but negatively correlated with attitude (r=-0.031). Students who have the cognitive ability good concept, has good reasoning ability as well, but not so with the attitude of their environment.
