Abstract

Pokok masalah yang menajadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah keterkaitan antara pendidikan keluarga dengan perilaku membaca siswa. Pendidikan keluarga pada penelitian ini diukur melalui indikator pola asuh otoriter, demokratis dan permisif. Perilaku membaca diukur melalui indikator kegiatan membaca buku, teknik membaca, waktu membaca dan aspek kesadaran akan manfaat membaca. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII dan kelas IX SMPN 9 Bandung, dengan sampel 88 orang yang dihitung berdasarkan rumus Slovin dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportionate stratified random sampling. Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan teknik korelasional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup dengan skala likert. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa hubungan pendidikan keluarga dengan perilaku membaca siswa di SMPN 9 Bandung berada pada kategori kuat. Hasil pengujian hubungan pola asuh otoriter dengan perilaku membaca berada di kategori kuat, sementara hubungan pola asuh demokratis dengan perilaku membaca dikategorikan sedang, dan hubungan pola asuh permisif dengan perilaku membaca dikategorikan kuat. Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini salah satunya ditujukan kepada pihak orang tua agar lebih memotivasi siswa untuk meningkatkan perilaku membaca sehingga diharapkan menjadi lebih baik.;--- This research aims to describe correlation between family education with studens' reading behavior. There are two research variables, those are family education, and reading behavior. Family education are measured by authoritative style, democratic style, and permissive style as its indicators. Meanwhile reading behavior are measured by reading activity, reading technique, timing, and awareness of reading advantages. Population of this research are students at 8-9 grade at SMPN 9 Bandung, meanwhile the samples are 88 students those are measured by proportionate stratified random sampling with Slovin formula. This research are done by using quantitative approach with correlational method. Closed questionnaire with Likert scale is used as collecting data technique. Meanwhile research data are analyzed by using correlation technique. The result shows that correlation between family education and reading behavior of SMPN 9 Bandung students is categorized as strong correlation. Authoritative style and reading behavior have a strong correlation, meanwhile democratic style and reading behavior have an average correlation. Permissive style and reading behavior have a strong correlation. This result reccomends parents to pay attention of their children' reading behavior.
