Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi keprihatinan terhadap minat membaca siswa sekolah menengah terhadap membaca yang masih rendah. Minat membaca yang rendah diawali oleh rasa malas karena tidak terbiasa untuk membaca di rumah maupun sekolah. Minat membaca yang kurang mempengaruhi keterampilan membaca siswa sehingga berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan membaca siswa menengah atas, terutama keterampilan membaca kritis harus ditingkatkan. Secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) memperoleh deskripsi profil pembelajaran membaca kritis kelas XI di MAN Purwakarta; (2) memperoleh deskripsi dan analisis kemampuan membaca kritis siswa kelas XI MAN Purwakarta; (3) memperoleh deskripsi proses pembelajaran membaca kritis menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe spearhead of reading berbasis nilai-nilai karakter di kelas XI MAN Purwakarta (4) mengetahui keefektivan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe spearhead of reading dalam pembelajaran membaca kritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuasieksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-postest control group design dengan rancangan tes awal dan tes akhir dengan kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan selain tes, yaitu berupa observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Adapun pengambilan data akan dilakukan pada siswa di kelas XI Madarasah Aliyah Negeri Purwakarta. Dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe spearhead of reading siswa belajar secara berkelompok dan bertahap. Dalam setiap pertemuannya siswa mempunyai tujuan belajar berbeda yang semuanya mengarah pada peningkatan kemampuan membaca kritis. Siswa diharapkan mampu memenuhi setiap tujuan belajar yang sudah ditentukan agar mampu mencapai tujua belajar beikutnya. Melalui penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Spearhead of reading mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis siswa. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata pretes dan postes kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe spearhead of reading dengan kelas kontrol yang tidak diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe spearhead of reading.;--- This research is motivated concern for the interest of middle school students read the reading is still low. Low interest in reading is preceded by feeling lazy because it is not accustomed to reading at home or school. Interests reading less influence students' reading skills and therefore contributes to student learning outcomes. Therefore, the reading skills of high school students, especially the critical reading skills must be improved. In particular, this study aims to: (1) obtain a description of the learning profile of critical reading in class XI MAN Purwakarta; (2) obtain a description and analysis of critical reading skills of students of class XI MAN Purwakarta; (3) obtain a description of the process of learning to read critically using cooperative learning model of reading based Spearhead character values in class XI MAN Purwakarta (4) determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning model Spearhead of reading in learning to read critically. This study uses kuasieksperimen. This study uses a design pretest-posttest control group design with the design of the initial test and final test with a control group. Data collection techniques used in addition to the test, in the form of observations, questionnaires and interviews. The data collection will be done on students in class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Purwakarta. In a cooperative learning model Spearhead of reading students study in groups and stages. In each meeting the students have different learning objectives, all of which lead to improved reading skills are critical. Students are expected to meet every learning objectives that have been determined to be able to achieve its goal to learn next. Through this study it was found that cooperative learning model Spearhead of reading can improve students' critical reading skills. It can be seen from the results of the average pretest and posttest experimental class were treated using cooperative learning model Spearhead of reading with the class of the control that was not given treatment Spearhead cooperative learning model of reading.
