Abstract

Penelitian tentang pemberitaan Setya Novanto di majalah Tempo edisi 30 November-13 Desember 2015 tentang Kasus Freeport merupakan penelitian di bidang ilmu komunikasi, khususnya jurnalistik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui wacana yang ada dibalik penulisan berita Setya Novanto terkait proses persidangan dalam kasus dugaan pencatutan nama Presiden Joko Widodo untuk meminta saham PT Freeport Indonesia. Berita yang dianalisis adalah berita yang dimuat sebagai laporan utama majalah Tempo. Penelitian penting dilakukan karena beberapa alasan. Pertama, berita terkait Setya Novanto menjadi topik yang paling sering dijadikan headline di berbagai media sejak November 2015 sehingga layak untuk dianalisis. Kedua, sosok Setya Novanto yang saat itu sebagai Ketua Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Indonesia (DPR RI) memiliki pengaruh terhadap keberpihakan isi pemberitaan. Ketiga, media harus menjalankan fungsi informatif dan kontrol yang berimbang sehingga wacana yang diangkat suatu berita harus sesuai dengan kaidah jurnalistik. Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk membongkar bagaimana wacana dibentuk dalam teks adalah melalui analisis wacana kritis atau Critical Discource Analysis (CDA) model Teun A. Van Dijk. Penelitian ini terfokus pada dimensi teks saja. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengamati elemen teks yang dibagi menjadi 6 elemen, yaitu tematik, skematik, semantik, sintaksis, stilistik, dan retoris. Temuan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tema yang dipilih sesuai topik yang aktual, skema sesuai dengan laporan investigatif, semantik membangun wacana dengan kalimat yang detail, sintaksis berisi kalimat efektif, stilistik atau pemilihan kata tegas dan tajam, serta elemen retoris dari judul dan foto sangat mendukung isi berita. Secara keseluruhan, wacana yang dibangun oleh majalah Tempo sangat mengkritisi tindakan politis Setya Novanto selama proses persidangan digelar. ;---Research about Setya Novanto news on Tempo magazine around November 30 to December 13, 2015, related to the Freeport case is a research in the communications studies, especially in discipline journalism. This study was conducted to determine what is behind the discourse of Novanto news related proceedings in alleged profiteering behalf of President Joko Widodo to ask for shares in PT Freeport Indonesia. This research analyses using a headline or major reports on Tempo magazine. This research also important for several reasons. First, related to the news, Novanto became the most frequently topic that make headlines in various media since November 2015 so it is worth analyzing. Second, the position Novanto then, served as Chairman of Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) RI has a major influence on the media bias toward him. Thirdly, the media should perform control and informative functions so the discourse in the news should be in accordance with the rules of journalism. One method that can be used to reveal how the discourse formed in the text is through Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) models Teun A. Van Dijk. This research focused on the text dimension only. Therefore, this research was conducted by analysing the six elements that the text divided, namely thematic, schematic, semantic, syntactic, stylistic, and rhetorical. The findings in this study indicate that the theme chosen on topic is actual, the scheme is according to investigation report style, semantic construct discourse with sentences that detail, the syntax contains sentences effectively, stylistic, and sharp, as well as title and photo of the rhetoric elements are strongly support the content of news. Overall, the discourse constructed by Tempo magazine highly ctiticized the political action on Novanto during the trial process.
