Abstract
Penelitian yang berjudul “Pengembangan Model Pembelajaran Problem Solving untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMK pada Materi Termokimia” ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi siswa SMK mengembangkan kemampuan mereka dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif berupa pra-experimental design dengan menggunakan one-group Pretest-Posttest Design. Penelitian dilakukan pada 34 siswa kelas XI salah satu SMK di kota Bandung. Untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SMK, digunakan butir soal berupa uraian yang dapat mengukur kemampuan di setiap indikator pemecahan masalah. Sebagai acuan dalam pemberian skor, digunakan Rubrik Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah (RKMP). Skor yang diperoleh, diinterpretasi berdasarkan kategori Gayon dan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah digunakan skor N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SMK berada pada level memuaskan. Sedangkan rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki siswa SMK setelah pembelajaran dengan model problem solving berada pada kategori sedang dengan N-Gain 0,51. Peningkatan tertinggi berada pada indikator merumuskan masalah dengan N-Gain 0,60 dan peningkatan terendah pada kemampuan mengevaluasi dengan N-Gain 0,40. The study entitled “The Development of a Problem Solving Learning Model to Improve Vocational Students’s Problem-Solving Ability on Thermochemical Material” was intended to facilitate the vocational students developing their skills in solving problems. The study used a quantitative research in the form of pre-experimental design using one-group Pretest-Posttest design. It was conducted by 34 students of class XI of one vocational school (SMK) in Bandung. To measure the student’s problem solving skills, it was used test items such as descriptions which can measure the ability of each problem-solving indicator. As a reference of scoring, it was used with Problem Solving Skills Rubric. After the score had been obtained, it was interpreted by Gayon category, and to get the information about the enhancement of problem-solving used N-Gain scores. The results showed that the average of vocational student’s problem solving skills are at a satisfactory level. While the average of the enhancement of problem solving skill possessed by vocational students having problem solving learning model is in the middle category with N-Gain 0,51. The highest enhancement is in indicator to define and represent the problem in N-Gain 0,60 and the lowest enhancement is in the skill to evaluate in N-Gain 0,40.
