Abstract
Terasi merupakan icon Cirebon selama belasan tahun lalu dan tak lekang dimakan jaman, dengan Kanci Kulon sebagai salah satu desa penghasil utamanya. Permasalahan terletak pada pengrajin terasi yang masih tergantung kepada seorang bakul untuk memasarkan hasil produksinya. Tujuan diadakannya penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan patron klien yang terjadi antara bakul dan pengrajin terasi di desa Kanci Kulon. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. Telah terjadi perubahan pola patron klien antara bakul dan pengrajin terasi di desa Kanci Kulon. Meski berubah, wujud asli dari patron klien masih bertahan selama turun temurun. Terdapat tiga pola hubungan yang terjadi, pola lama, pola baru dan hubungan diantara perkumpulan rumah terasi dengan anggotanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) faktor utama terjadinya patron klien adalah turun temurun dan faktor ekonomi, 2) hambatan utama dalam hubungan patron klien berasal perilaku pelaku patron klien itu sendiri, baik pengrajin maupun bakul, namun hambatan tersebut akan berbeda tergantung pada sudut pandang pelaku patron klien itu sendiri, 3) upaya dipengaruhi oleh alasan bertahan dan perilaku dari para pelaku patron klien itu sendiri.;---Terasi is an icon of Cirebon from dozen years ago and irreplaceable through eras, with Kanci Kulon as one of it’s main producers. The problem lies in the Terasi craftsmen who still depends on a bakul for sells they’re product to the market. The purpose for holding this research is to find out the relationship between clients of the patrons of Bakul and Terasi craftsman in Kanci Kulon. This research is using qualitative approach with descriptive analysis as it’s method. However the pattern of patron clients relationship between bakul and terasi craftsman has changes through era. Despite the changes, the original form of the patron client is still there. There are three patterns of relationships that happen, old patterns, new patterns and relationships among the members and Rumah Terasi’s executive board. However the results showed 1) the main factor for patron client relationship to happen is hereditary and the economic factor, 2) the main obstacles in the patron client relationship are from patron and client behaviour, both terasi craftsmen as well as bakul, but these obstacles will be different depending on the point of view of the perpetrator of the patrons client relationship itself, 3) attempts to make relationship stay longer are influenced by they’re reason to stay and depended on the behaviour of the perpetrators of the patron client it self.
