Abstract

Bandung menjadi salah satu kota dengan surganya kuliner. Kafe-kafe di kota Bandung menjadi salah satu tujuan para wisatawan. Mahasiswa merupakan salah satu pengunjung yang menjadi target para pebisnis kafe atau kuliner, khususnya di kota Bandung. Di zaman modern seperti saat ini, makan bukan lagi hanya tentang bagaimana merasa kenyang, tetapi lebih kepada gaya hidup. Mahasiswa menjadi salah satu contoh konsumen yang melakukan banyak pertimbangan ketika ingin makan, karena biasanya mahasiswa akan memanfaatkan momen makan bersama dengan teman-temannya, sehingga akan cenderung memilih tempat yang nyaman untuk berbincang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran umum mengenai perilaku mahasiswa dalam memilih jenis makanan dan minuman di kafe, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa terhadap ketertarikan menikmati makanan dan minuman di kafe, solusi mengatasi prestise negatif di kalangan mahasiswa pengunjung kafe. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang menggambarkan dan melukiskan suatu peristiwa yang terjadi dengan apa adanya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi partisipasi, wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi, studi literature, dan diary methods. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Kehadiran kafe memiliki dampak yang luar biasa terhadap kehidupan mahasiswa, bahkan sangat berpengaruh terhadap sikap dan perilaku mahasiswa. Kehidupan mahasiswa mengalami perubahan seiring dengan perkembangan zaman dan kemajuan teknologi. Mahasiswa tergantung kepada hal-hal yang berbau hedonisme, sangat mengutamakan gaya hidup, dan berusaha mencari jati diri agar diakui di lingkungan sosialnya. Penelitian ini dapat di implementasikan pada pembelajaran sosiologi yaitu pada materi perubahan sosial.;---Bandung became one of the cities with a culinary paradise. The cafes in Bandung became one of the culinary tourism destinations. The students as the visitors are the target of a cafe or culinary businessman. In this modern era, eating is no longer just about how to feel full, but becomes a lifestyle. The students usually take a lot of considerations when they want to eat, because they want to catch every moment of eating together with friends, so they would tend to choose a comfortable place to talk. The purpose of this study was to determine the general picture of the students’ behavior in choosing their type of foods and beverages in the cafe, students’ interest towards a café that serving delicious foods and beverages, the factors that effect students interest in enjoying foods and beverages in the cafe, then to find a solution to overcome negative prestige the café spreading towards students’ behavior in Bandung. The approach of this study was descriptive qualitative method that described and depicted an event naturally. The data collection in this study are using participatory observation, deep interviews, documentary studies, literature studies, and diary methods. The results showed that the presence of the cafe had a tremendous impact on the lives of students, and even influence their attitudes and behaviors. The students’ life changed along with the times and technological advances. The students depend on the things that smelled of hedonism, concerned their lifestyle, and tried to find their identity in order to be recognized in their social environment. This study can be implemented in sociology, especially the matter of social change.
