Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Peranan Laboratorium Virtual PhET – ABS UntukMeningkatkan Retensi Siswa Pada Materi Larutan Asam Basa di Salah Satu SMA Kota Bandung”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai retensi siswa pada konsep larutan asam basa yang diperoleh dari proses pembelajaran oleh guru dan proses pembelajaran menggunakan laboratorium virtual PhET – ABS, serta untuk mengetahui sejauh mana retensi siswa pada konsep larutan asam basa yang diperoleh dari proses pembelajaran menggunakan laboratorium virtual PhET – ABS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi – eksperimentaldengan rancangan penelitian one group time series design. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan kelompok tunggal yang berjumlah 20 orang siswa kelas XII IPA di salah satu Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis tes pertama, tes kedua, dan tes ketiga. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji non parametrik pada uji dua rerata dan uji Mann – Whitney. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, (1)Hasil analisis data UTS dan tes pertama, siswa mengalami penurunan retensi yang signifikan pada konsep larutan asam basa yang diperoleh dari proses pembelajaran oleh guru yang ditandai hasil Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) mengalami perbedaan yang signifikan yaitu 0,000 < 0,05, (2) Hasil analisis data tes pertama dan tes kedua, siswa mengalami penurunan retensi yang tidak signifikan pada konsep larutan asam basa yang diperoleh dari proses pembelajaran menggunakan laboratorium virtual PhET – ABS yang ditandai hasil Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) mengalami perbedaan yang tidak signifikan yaitu 0,089 ≥ 0,05, dan (3) Hasil analisis pada pasangan kelompok tinggi – sedang, kelompok tinggi – rendah, dan kelompok sedang – rendah. Laboratorium virtual PhET – ABS berperan meningkatkan retensi siswa pada pasangan kelompok sedang – rendah.;--- This study entitled, “The Role of PhET – ABS Virtual Laboratory to Increase Students’ Retention of Acid Base Solution Material at One of Senior High School in Bandung”. The aims of this study are to get the information of students’ retention of acid base solutionconcept which gains from learning process conducted by teacher which used PhET – ABSvirtual and how far the retention of the students of acid base solutionconcept which gains from learning process which used PhET – ABSvirtual Laboratory. This study employed a quasi – experimental method with one group time series design. The sample of this study was only one group of students of XII IPA class in a senior high school in Bandung which contained 20 students. The instruments used by this study were written test (1st test, 2nd test, and 3rd test). The collected data were analyzed by non-parametric experiment on the second test and Mann – Whitney experiment. The result of this study showed that (1) based on the result of mid-term and 1st test analysis, students experienced a significant retention degradation of acid base solutionconcept which gains from learning process conducted by teacher which is proved by the result of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) has a significant differentiation, it is 0,000 < 0,05; (2) based on the result of 1st test and 2nd test analysis, the students , students experienced a un-significant retention degradation of acid base solutionconcept which gains from the learning process which used PhET – ABSvirtual Laboratory which proved by the result of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) has a un-significant differentiation, it is 0,089 ≥ 0,05; and (3) based on the result of high-medium, high-low, and medium-low couple groups, the PhET – ABSvirtuallaboratory could increase students’ retention for medium-low couple group.
