Abstract

Bersikap positif pada bahasa Indonesia dan memiliki kemampuan berbicara akademik merupakan dua hal yang harus tecermin pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sikap berbahasa Indonesia terhadap kemampuan berbicara akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Galuh Ciamis angkatan 2015/2016. Data pada penelitian ini didapatkan melalui teknik kuesioner (angket) dan teknik tes. Teknik kuesioner (angket) digunakan untuk mengetahui sikap berbahasa Indonesia mahasiswa, sedangkan teknik tes digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berbicara akademik mahasiswa. Untuk melihat pengaruh sikap berbahasa terhadap kemampuan berbicara akademik, pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasional, determinasi, dan regresi. Besar kecilnya sumbangan sikap berbahasa Indonesia terhadap kemampuan berbicara akademik sebesar 6,20%. Artinya sikap berbahasa Indonesia memberikan kontribusi (pengaruh) terhadap kemampuam berbicara akademik sebesar 6,20%, sementara sisanya 93,80% ditentukan atau dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Selain itu, berdasarkan perhitungan melalui persamaan regresi, diketahui persamaan garis Y = 50,63 + 0,30X, nilai konstanta (a) sebesar 50,63, menunjukkan besarnya variabel kemampuan berbicara yang tidak dipengaruhi oleh variabel sikap berbahasa Indonesia, atau dapat diartikan pada saat nilai sikap berbahasa Indonesia sebesar 0, maka kemampuan berbicara sebesar 50,63. Pengaruh variabel sikap berbahasa Indonesia terhadap kemampuan berbicara akademik positif yakni 0,30, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan dari sikap berbahasa Indonesia akan diikuti oleh kenaikan kemampuan berbicara akademik. Dengan demikian, setiap peningkatan 1 satuan sikap berbahasa Indonsia maka akan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berbicara akademik sebesar 0,30 satuan.;--- Having a positive attitude to Indonesian and academic speaking skills are two necessary things for students. The research aims to find out the influence of attitude towards using Indonesian language on students’ academic speaking skills. It is correlational research with 2015/2016 students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Galuh University, Ciamis, as the population. The data of this research were obtained through the techniques of questionnaire and tests. Questionnaire was used to find about students’ attitude towards using Indonesian, while tests were carried out to find students’ academic speaking skills. To see the influence of attitude to using Indonesian on academic speaking skills, correlational, determination, and regression tests were conducted. The contribution of attitude towards using Indonesian to academic speaking skills was 6.20%. This means that attitude towards using Indonesian has a contribution to academic speaking skills for 6.20%, while the rest 93.80% are determined by other variables. In addition, based on the calculation of regression equation, it was found that Y = 50.63 + 0.30X,with a constant value (a) of 50.63, which shows that the extent of speaking skill variable is not influenced by the variable of attitude towards using Indonesian; in other words, when the attitude towards using Indonesian has a 0 value, the value of speaking skills is 50.63. The influence of the variable of attitude towards using Indonesian on academic speaking skills is positive, with a value of 0.30; this indicates that an increase in the attitude towards using Indonesian will be followed by an increase in academic speaking skills. Hence, every single increase in attitude to using Indonesian will influencean increase in academic speaking skills for 0.30.
