Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena permasalahan yang terjadi di sekolah. Siswa sekolah menengah berada pada masa remaja yang rentang terhadap perilaku bermasalah, salah satunya adalah perilaku agresif. Perilaku agresif merupakan perilaku menyakiti korban yang dilakukan dengan sengaja. Kontrol diri sebagai salah satu faktor kepribadian yang dapat mempengaruhi atau menghambat seseorang untuk terlibat dalam perilaku agresif. Maka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku agresif siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional yang melibatkan 240 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Purwadadi Kabupaten Ciamis Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016sebagai sampel penelitian. Temuan penelitian menunjukan: (1) Terdapat hubungan yang cukup berarti atau sedang antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku agresif dan arah hubungan berbanding terbalik. Artinya semakin tinggi kontrol diri yang dimiliki siswa, semakin rendah kecenderungan siswa untuk berperilaku agresif, semakin rendah kemampuan kontrol diri, semakin tinggi kemungkinan siswa berperilaku agresif. (2) Kontrol perilaku memiliki hubungan yang cukup berarti dengan perilaku agresif dibanding aspek kontrol diri lainnya dan arah hubungan berbanding terbalik (3) rekomendasi bagi bimbingan dan konseling berupa layanan dasar bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk meningkatkan kontrol diri dalam mereduksi perilaku agresif siswa. (4) Peneliti selanjutnya dapat meneliti faktor yang mempengaruhi hubungan kontrol diri dengan perilaku agresif. ;--- This study was conducted based on the phenomenon happened in school. Students in the middle school are on their adolescence in which they are vulnerable towards negative behaviors, one of them is the aggressive behavior. Aggressive behavior is a behavior where the students hurt people consciously. Self-control is one of self-factor that can influence or hamper an individual for getting involved in aggressive behavior. Therefore, this study aimed to figure out the correlation between self-control and the student’s aggressive behavior. This study used quantitative approach with correlational descriptive method which involved 240 students in seventh grade at Public Junior High School Purwadadi Kabupaten Ciamis, Academic Year 2015/2016 as the research sample. The results showed that: (1). There is correlation between self-control and aggressive behavior and direnctions inverse relationship. It means that, the higher self-control that the students have, the lower the students tend to have aggressive behavior, the lower self-control skill they have, the higher the students tend to have aggressive behavior. (2) There is correlation between behavior control andaggressive behavior and direnctions inverse relationship. (3) the recommendations to guidance and counseling is in form of basic services a social private counseling for increasing self-control skill in reducing the students’ aggressive behavior. (4) The other researcher can examine further about factors that can influence the correlation between self-control and aggressive behavior.
