Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh temuan permasalahan pada saat pra-penelitian kelas VII-C SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi yakni kurangnya rasa percaya diri siswa. Kurangnya rasa percaya diri siswa dapat berpengaruh terhadap akademik maupun interaksi saat kegiatan proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa. Pada proses pembelajaran, rasa percaya diri dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran salah satunya penerapan metode students facilitator and explaining (SFAE) dengan melibatkan siswa saat proses pembelajaran serta menghubungkan contoh- contoh nyata yang terdapat disekitar lingkungan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. Dalam pelaksanaannya metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model PTK Kemmis dan Mc Taggart, tahapan penelitian pun terbagi menjadi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan (observasi), dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam empat siklus dengan siklus satu hingga siklus empat dilaksanakan sebanyak satu kali tindakan. Pada siklus satu siswa menunjukkan rasa percaya diri dengan memperoleh kategori “cukup”, siklus dua siswa mengalami perkembangan yang baik walaupun masih dalam katergori “cukup”, lalu siklus tiga siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan masuk dalam kategori “baik” dan siklus empat yaitu siklus terakhir masuk dalam katergori “baik”, namun peningkatan tidak signifikan seperti siklus sebelumnya. Dengan demikian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini dianggap sudah berhasil, karena data yang diperoleh sudah jenuh. Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penerapan metode students facilitator and explaining (SFAE) dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa.;---This research was based on the issues at the moment pre-research VII-C class in SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi that is lack of student confidence. Lack of student confidence can influential to academic although interaction at the process of study. The purpose of this research is improving of student confidence. The process study, confidence can improve with used study method one of the application method is Students Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) with involving students at process study and connect with real samples there are around students area in social studies. Implementation research method the used Classroom Action Research with Classroom Action Research model Classroom Action Research Kemmis and Mc Taggrat, research step divided become planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research does in four cycles which is one cycle until four cycle implementation of counted one time action. In one cycle students point out confidence get category “enough”, two cycle study experience development which is good although still in category “enough”, then three cycle experience improve the significant go into category “good” and four cycle that is finish cycle go into category “good”, but improve not significant as before cycle. The case researcher concluded that this research considered has success, because the data has already surfeited. With that result the conclusion is application method Students Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) in social studies learning can improving of students confidence.
