Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi permasalahan di kelas VIII-D SMPN 4 Cimahi yang ditemukan peneliti saat melakukan observasi awal. Dari observasi awal ditemukan bahwa para siswa masih rendah dalam bertanggung jawab saat mengerjakan tugas kelompok. Dalam mengerjakan tugas kelompok, siswa harus mampu berpartisipasi untuk memberikan pendapat, ide/gagasan dalam pembagian tugas anggota kelompok, mengerjakan tugas sesuai bagiannya dalam mencari informasi tentang tugas yang diberikan, dan saling membantu dalam pembuatan tugas maupun presentasi kelompok. Alternative pemecahan masalah tersebut yaitu dengan menerapkan project based learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan tanggung jawab siswa dalam mengerjakan tugas kelompok pada pembelajaran IPS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain penelitian berdasarkan pada model Ebbutt yang mencakup kegiatan identifikasi masalah, memeriksa di lapangan (reconnaisance), perencanaan. Pelaksanaan/tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tanggung jawab siswa dalam mengerjakan tugas kelompok mengalami peningkatan mulai dari siklus 1 hingga siklus 3 setelah diterapkannya project based learning. Penggunaan project based learning bukan hanya meningkatkan tanggung jawab siswa, kreativitas serta rasa percaya diri pun terlihat mengalami peningkatan. Adapun selama penelitian, refleksi kendala yang dihadapi adalah terbatasnya waktu pengerjaan proyek yang diberikan kepada siswa. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi pihak sekolah dan guru untuk memningkatkan tanggung jawab siswa terutama dalam mengerjakan tugas kelompok.;--- This study based on the issues raised in class VIII-D of SMPN 4 Cimahi which found by researcher when performing preliminary observation. Based on preliminary observation several problems were found on lack of student’s responsibility in the task group on social studies. Into make a group task, each students has a responsibility to cooperate with members of their group. Students should be able to participate to give their ideas or opinions in extended a sketch of their project and devider a task. They have to search an information of their project and help each other in making their product and presentation of project. The purpose of this study is to improve the student’s responsibility in task group on social studies. The method used in this study is action research classroom. The design of this study based on model of Ebbutt that included activities of problem identification, reconnaisance, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result showed that the student’s responsibility in task group increased after the implementation of project based learning from cycle 1 to cycle 3. The use of project based learning not only increases the student’s responsibility, creativities and confidence also appears to be rising. But during the research phase, some obstacles were found that is the lack of time for doing the project that given to student. The result can be recommendation for school and teachers to develop student’s responsibility in the task group on social studies.
