Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembentukan resiliensi pada ibu yang memiliki anak penyandang down syndrome ditinjau dari bagaimana ibu melihat tanda-tanda adanya kelainan pada anak, kondisi ibu setelah mendengar diagnosis dokter, hambatan yang dialami, dan bagaimana ibu memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi. Resiliensi adalah kemampuan untuk mengatasi dan beradaptasi terhadap kejadian yang berat atau masalah yang terjadi dalam kehidupan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 orang ibu yang memiliki anak down syndrome di SLB YPLAB Lembang, Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara teknik wawancara dengan bantuan pedoman wawancara semi terstruktur dan hasilnya dicatat secara verbatim. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada subjek pertama (IW) proses pembentukan resiliensi dipengaruhi oleh self efficacy, dukungan sosial, empati, adanya role model, dan keterlibatannya dalam proses intervensi. Pada subjek kedua (A), proses pembentukan resiliensi dipengaruhi oleh nilai agama yang ada dalam dirinya dan pengetahuan yang didapatkan dari seminar yang diikutinya. Adapun faktor lain yang berpengaruh pada kedua subjek antara lain kemampuan regulasi emosi, kemampuan pengendalian impuls, optimisme, dan proses pemaknaan positif. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah untuk meneliti lanjutan dengan mengaitkan antara orang tua anak berkebutuhan khusus dengan aspek-aspek lain seperti religiusitas dan pengaruh lingkungan, serta menggunakan metode yang berbeda.; The purpose of this research is to know the process of establishing the resilience in mothers of children with Down syndrome in terms of how the mother sees signs of abnormalities in the child, the mother's condition after hearing the doctor's diagnosis, barriers experienced, and how to solve problems facing mothers. Resilience is the ability to adapt to the severe events or problems that occur in life. This study used a qualitative approach with case study method. Subjects in this research was two mothers of children with Down syndrome in SLB YPLAB Lembang, Bandung. The techniques of data acquisition was done by interview helped by the semi-structured interview guides and the results are recorded verbatim. The result of this research indicate that in the first subject (IW) the resilience formation process is influenced by self-efficacy, social support, emphaty, and mother’s involvement in the intervention process. On the second subject (A), the resilience formation process is influenced by the value of religion and the knowledge gained from the seminar that followed. As for the other factors that affect both subjects are emotion regulation, impulse control ability, optimism, and reaching out. Recommendations for future research is to examine the link between parents of children with special needs with other aspects such as religiosity and environmental influences, as well as using different methods.
