    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penerapan Kurikulum 2013 yang berisi materi-materi baru. Salah satunya adalah tentang menulis teks eksposisi. Peneliti bermaksud melakukan penelitian dengan menerapkan teknik examples non-examples dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Penelitian ini berupaya membantu siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi yang dianggap masih kurang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitiannya pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung dengan subjek penelitian kelas X MIA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah masing-masing 30 orang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan rumus statistik terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa menulis teks eksposisi di kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diterapkan pembelajaran menggunakan teknik examples non-examples. ---------This study was triggered by the implementation of 2013 Curriculum—Kurikulum 2013—in which Exposition text was included as one of the learning materials. This study was aimed at discovering to what extent the use of ‘examples non-examples’ technique is effective in teaching Exposition text. It was expected that this study was able to help the students in writing an Exposition text since it was considered difficult to be acquired. In order to be able to conduct an analysis, this study utilized a quasi-experimental research design in which the data were obtained from pre-test and post-test to experimental group. Therefore, this study involved two classes consisted of 30 students; X MIA 4 as experimental group and X MIA 5 as control group. Statistically comparing the result of pre-test and post-test, it was revealed that there was a significant improvement in the students’ scores after the implementation of ‘examples non-examples’ technique.
