Abstract

Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan model mental dan pemahaman konsep siswa tentang konsep tekanan setelah pembelajaran IPA terpadu menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis Representational Task Formats (RTF). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa dari dua kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Gresik tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, tes diagnostik (three-tier test) untuk mengetahui perubahan model mental siswa, tes pilihan ganda untuk pemahaman konsep, angket untuk melihat respon siswa, serta format wawancara untuk melihat tanggapan guru terhadap pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran IPA terpadu dengan model PBL berbasis RTF (kelas eksperimen) sebesar 93,09% dan pembelajaran IPA terpadu dengan model PBL (kelas kontrol) sebesar 89,92% dan dapat dikatakan sudah terlaksana sesuai dengan yang direncanakan. Perubahan model mental untuk kedua kelas dikatakan berubah signifikan sesuai dengan hasil uji McNemar yaitu diperoleh X2=31,14 (kelas eksperimen) dan X2=20,25 (kelas kontrol), dan juga melalui uji t rerata n-gain setiap kategori (tahu konsep, tidak tahu konsep, dan miskonsepsi) dapat dikatakan terdapat perbedaan perubahan yang signifikan model mental siswa untuk kedua kelas. Pemahaman konsep siswa untuk kedua kelas dikatakan terdapat perbedaan peningkatan yang signifikan, yaitu untuk kelas eksperimen n-gain sebesar 0,59 dan untuk kelas kontrol n-gain sebesar 0,36 dan dapat dikategorikan peningkatannya sedang. Guru dan siswa menanggapi positif pembelajaran IPA terpadu dengan model PBL berbasis RTF.; The purpose of this study was to know the change of mental model and concept understanding about pressure concept after integrated science learning by model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) with Representational Task Formats (RTF). This study used a quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were students of two classes of one of SMP in Gresik District of 2015/2016 year. Data was collected using a observation sheet to observe the learning, diagnostic test (three-tier test) to know the change of mental model, multiple choice test to concept understanding, sheet questionnaire to know students responses, and interview format to know respons of teacher. The results showed that the feasibility study with the integrated science with problem based learning models with representational task formats was been implemented and it was planned, experimental class was 93,09% and control class was 89,92%. The change of mental model for two classes has been changed significanly based on McNemar test that was X2=31,14 (experimental class) dan X2=20,25 (control class), and also based on the result of t-test of n-gain average of each subconcept, so it said that there was significane difference of the students’ mental model change of two classes. Therefore, there was difference of increasing of students’ concept understanding for two classes, with n-gain of experimental class was 0,59 (medium category) and n-gain of control class was 0,36 (medium category). Teachers and students show positive respons for implementation of an integrated science learning with problem based learning models with representational task formats.
