Abstract

Kemampuan pemrosesan informasi merupakan kemampuan untuk mengolah dan menginterpretasikan informasi menjadi lebih bermakna. Salah satu cara untuk mengetahui informasi yang sudah diproses yaitu melalui kegiatan argumentasi. Untuk menciptakan argumentasi yang baik diperlukan berbagai informasi yang sudah diproses agar tercipta sebuah solusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa SMA dalam memroses informasi pada isu keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia menggunakan video dan teks serta mengetahui kemampuan argumentasi siswa secara lisan dan tulisan. Kemampuan pemrosesan informasi diukur menggunakan tes yang diadaptasi dari Marzano dan kemampuan argumentasi diukur dengan tes yang diadaptasi dari Toulmin Argumentation Pattern. Tes ini diberikan kepada 30 siswa kelas X di SMAN 8 Bandung yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan \kemampuan memroses informasi menggunakan video dan teks memiliki kontribusi terhadap kemampuan argumentasi siswa secara lisan dan tulisan mengenai isu keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia. Informasi dari video dan teks dijadikan pernyataan pendukung untuk meningkatkan kualitas argumentasi. Argumentasi yang dihasilkan oleh setiap siswa menunjukkan perbedaan kualitas yang menandakan pemahaman siswa terhadap isu yang disampaikan. Kata kunci: argumentasi, isu keanekaragaman hayati, pemrosesan informasi ABSTRACT Information processing capability is the ability to process and interpret the information becomes meaningful information. One of the method to to know the information that has been processed is through argumentation. To create a good argument required various information that has been processed to create a solution in the end. This research aims to know the ability of high school students in processing the information on the issue of biodiversity in Indonesia using the video and the text and know the ability of students argument in orally and writing. Information processing capability was measured using the test adapted from Marzano and ability of argument was measured with the test adapted from Toulmin Argumentation Pattern. This test was given to 30 students in SMAN 8 Bandung were selected by purposive sampling. The results showed the ability to process information using video and text have contributed to the ability of the students’ argument in orally and writing regarding issues of biodiversity in Indonesia. The information from video and text used as a supporting statement to improve the quality of the argument. The argument generated by each of the students showed the difference in quality which marks the students' understanding of the issues presented.
