Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tematik dengan menerapkan pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) di salah satu SD di Kota Bandung. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu kelas III yang berjumlah 31 orang siswa. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang penerapan pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran tematik. Secara lebih khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, motivasi belajar, dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Taggart. Perolehan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa meningkat di setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I persentasi motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 54,83% dan hasil belajarnya sebesar 58,06%. Pada siklus II persentasi motivasi belajar siswa sedikit meningkat menjadi 61,3% dan hasil belajarnya sebesar 74,19%. Pada siklus III persentasi motivasi belajar siswa meningkat lebih banyak yaitu sebesar 90,32% dan hasil belajarnya adalah 90,32%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Disarankan kepada guru untuk menerapkan pendekatan ini. Dalam menerapakan pembelajaran guru harus menguasai teorinya terlebih dahulu, pelajari tata cara mengolah kelas yang baik agar proses pembelajaran dapat dilaksanakan sesuai dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya perlu diperluas dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran ini, pada materi, mata pelajaran, atau jenjang kelas lainnya.----------The purpose of this research is to improve students’ learning motivation in thematic learning by applying CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) approach in an Elementary School in Bandung. The subject of the research is 31 students in the 3rd grade. Generally, this research aims to obtain the description of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) approach application to improve students’ learning motivation in thematic learning. Specifically, this research aims to describe learning activities, learning motivation, and students’ learning result. This research is a classroom action research done in three cycle using Kemmis and Taggart model. In cycle I the presentation of students’ learning motivation was 54,83% and the learning result was 58,06%. In cycle II the presentation of students’ learning motivation was improved to 61,3% with the learning result became 74,19%. In cycle III the presentation of students’ learning motivation was improved to 90,32% with the learning result became 90,32%. Based on the research, it can be concluded that CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) can improve the learning motivation and the learning result of the students. In is recommended to teachers to apply this approach. In conducting a teaching session the teacher must first understand the theory, this includes learning ways to have a good classroom management so that the learning process can be done in accord with the desired goals. For future researchers, the research needs to be improved by applying the approach to the material, subjects, and other grades.
