Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh prevalensi anak-anak dengan Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) yang semakin meningkat. Anak-anak dengan DCD seringkali tidak disadari keberadaannya sehingga menjadi terabaikan, padahal mereka mengalami hambatan gerak yang berdampak terhadap aktivitas dalam kehidupan sehari-hari maupun kegiatan akademik di sekolah. Pemberian intervensi bagi anak-anak dengan DCD sangatlah diperlukan. Pendidik perlu mengetahui intervensi seperti apa yang efektif dan tepat untuk diterapkan pada anak dengan DCD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan suatu program intervensi gerak untuk meningkatkan keterampilan koordinasi gerak bagi anak dengan DCD berdasarkan pertimbangan kondisi objektif anak, kompetensi guru, serta sarana dan prasarana yang tersedia di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tiga tahap penelitian. Tahapan penelitian dilakukan secara hirarki, artinya tahapan penelitian pertama akan mempengaruhi tahapan penelitian selanjutnya dalam rangka mencapai tujuan utama penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan program intervensi gerak untuk meningkatkan keterampilan koordinasi gerak yang dilakukan sudah layak diterapkan bagi anak dengan DCD. Program intervensi gerak ini dikatakan layak dilihat dari tiga aspek, yaitu dilihat dari sisi pengguna (guru), proses intervensi yang dilakukan, dan dampak terhadap kemampuan anak. Berdasarkan analisis ketiga aspek tersebut diperoleh nilai kepraktisan dan nilai kebermanfaat dari penerapan program intervensi gerak bagi anak dengan DCD di sekolah. Kepraktisan dari penerapan program intervensi gerak yang dikembangkan dapat dilihat dari kemudahan guru dalam memahami, melaksanakan, dan melakukan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaan program intervensi gerak ini. Kebermanfaatan dari program intervensi gerak dapat terlihat dari kemampuan kontrol gerak anak dalam keterampilan koordinasi gerak yang meningkat.---------The increasing number of children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) motivates the author to conduct this research. The unawareness of educators to DCD condition lead to the lack of intervention and even neglection. In fact, the children with DCD have difficulty on movement which affect their daily living activities and academic performances at school. The provision of interventions for children with DCD is important. The educators need to know and apply the effective and appropriate intervention for children with DCD. The aim of this research is to develop an intervention program to improve the movement of motor coordination skills of children with DCD based on of the children’s objective conditions, the teachers’ competencies, and the availability of schools facilities. A qualitative approach used three stages of the research were conducted in a hierarchial way, which mean the first stage of the research will affect the next steps in order to achieve the main goal of research. The result shows that the development of intervention program to improve the motor coordination skills were already feasible for children with DCD. It was feasible based on the three aspects; 1) those were in term of users (educators), 2) the process of intervention, and 3) the impact to the children’s abilities. Based on the analysis of these three aspects, it gained the value of practicality and value of benefit from the implementation of movement intervention program for children with DCD in the schools. The practicality are seen from the easiness of the educators to understand, implement, and evaluate the implementation of the movement intervention programs. Moreover, the benefit value are seen from the children’s ability in movement control in motor coordination skills.
