Abstract

Penelitian ini diangkat berdasarkan hambatan yang muncul di lapangan. Bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran secara langsung, peneliti kira kurang efektif untuk mengajarkan materi renang untuk jumlah peserta didik yang banyak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang berbeda dari penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning dan direct teaching terhadap penguasaan gerakan renang gaya dada pada kelas VIII di SMPN 43 Bandung. Populasi dari penelitian ini merupakan siswa angakatan VIII sebanyak 280. Sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan siswa-siswi kelas VIII hasil dari pengambilan sampel secara random sampling sebanyak 30 peserta didik. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan modifikasi penilaian gerakan renang gaya dada. Pelaksanaan pemberian perlakuan dilaksanakan di sekolah dan di kolam renang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperiment dan desain penelitiannya menggunakan desain penelitian Posttest-Only Control Design. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa rata-rata dari penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative sebesar 40,16 dan model pembelajaran direct sebesar 37,1. Hasil analisis data ternyata nilai t hitung (2,61) lebih besar atau diluar daerah penerimaan Ho dari t tabel (1,701) maka dari itu Ho ditolak. Maka kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning dan direct teaching adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Saran untuk penelitian kedepan agar dapat menambah jumlah sampel lebih banyak dan menyiapkan fasilitas yang mendukung khusus untuk materi aktivitas air.----------This research was appointed by the obstacles that arise in the field. That the direct application of learning models, researchers think less effective to teach swimming to the amount of material that many learners. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a different effect from the implementation of cooperative learning model learning and direct teaching to mastery breaststroke swimming movements in class VIII SMPN 43 Bandung. Population of this research is the students angakatan VIII as much as 280. The sample in this study using students of class VIII results of sampling random sampling of 30 learners. The instrument used in this study using a modified assessment breaststroke swimming movements. Implementation of the treatment carried out in schools and in the pool. The method used is the method of experiment and research design research design Posttest-Only Control Design. The study states that the average of the application of cooperative learning model of 40.16 and direct learning model of 37.1. Results of the data analysis turns t value (2.61) is greater than or outside the reception area of Ho of t table (1.701) therefore Ho rejected. Then the conclusions derived from the application of the teaching model of cooperative learning and direct teaching is that there is a significant difference. Suggestions for future research in order to increase the number of samples and prepare more specifically for facilities that support the water activity of the material.
